We are frequent visitors to The Flintlock, and always enjoyed the food and ambience with Paolo behind the bar overseeing customers enjoyment. The new owners, with Hassan behind the bar have not disappointed. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is still most enjoyable. I am so delighted that The Flintlock is still the place to go for a really great night. Thank you.

Since 2003 Carol and Paul have earned an excellent local reputation for good quality food and excellent service. It has no pool table, loud music or fruit machines, just a warm and friendly atmosphere where customers can sit and have a quiet drink or a ho
Wednesday night. Pick from menu or have a roast, 2 courses £10.95. Very nice indeed. plenty of gravy. Fantastic service from a lovely bar lady. Will go back. Small menu for a small place but everything looked lovely. Thursday is pie with chips or mash, veg and a pint for £10.00. Well worth the price.

Stayed one night so we could catch up with friends after staying at Cricket St. Thomas. Room was ready early so we were able to drop cases in before midday. Very comfortable room, excellent evening meal, superb breakfast. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Quiet location - you need a car - lovely surroundings.

My husband and I stayed overnight here and dined in their restaurant. Our stay was comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. Service was attentive, friendly and professional. Extensive menu containing pub classics and vegetarian/vegan choices. They use local produce as much as possible. We were presented with some complimentary tasters before our main. The chef is very talented! Hake and chips with crushed peas and tartare sauce was demolished by my husband. I opted for a roasted veg dish with aubergine and delightful wontons. We were full after our mains but managed to squeeze in Jaffacake icecream !!!! Divine!!!!! Do come and eat here, you won't be disappointed! Our room we stayed in overnight was well equipped and cosy, separate from the inn. Very comfortable bed, bathroom clean, shower and bath in room 1. Outdoor seating available, weather permitting.

"Windwhistle" does evoke a clifftop location, but is name of the local hills. Being on the brow of a range of hills, it does have a panoramic view on a clear day and you can see all the way to Glastonbury Tor & the Bristol Channel. The original building w
Well what can I say... We came as a party if 8 for my nieces birthday. All placed our food order at the same time. The first half of the food order arrived and we all waited for the rest... After reminding the serving staff most of the rest arrived around 15 minutes later, however we were still missing two items. We asked for these again and the rest of the party began eating. After a further 15 minutes the rest of our party had finished eating and we were still awaiting a meal and a side so asked again. The final meal arrived almost 20 minutes after everyone had finished. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy to be honest and it just seems like they were unable to cope with a large group. It's a real shame as we have had some lovely meals here in the past and this was barely passable. Dear Samwise, reviews are very useful and if brought to our attention on the day we can do something to rectify any problems that arrise. Whilst this is not an excuse we had a chef call in sick and our replacement chef was unavailable. We have now employed another chef so that these situations should be rectified.

Booking the golf club for our wedding almost two years ago felt like it got off to a rocky start as the staff kept moving/changing but weâre so glad that by the time our big day came around Katie was running things. We had 80 day and 120 evening guests but the whole day felt like a relaxed family summer day. Without one single issue we were praised for the beautiful setting, the perfectly appointed marquee, attentively staffed bar, fabulous food and great evening music/dj. Numerous guests came to us to say how wonderful and friendly the staff (and Katie in particular) were. Including her running off to fetch the mother of the groom some flip flops due to a shoe emergency! I cannot express how much it meant to us to know our big day was in such capable hands and we will remember it always. I will be singing Cricketâs praises from the rooftops in future!

What a great pub! The lunch sharing platter with beef, pork, chicken and the works was perhaps the best pub Sunday lunch Iâve had anywhere. Great service too, and excellent value for the quality. Really recommended.
