The site is superb and undoubtedly the best outlook in Kaikoura, with panoramic vistas of the Kaikoura Ranges and sweeping views of Ingals' Bay from the bar and restaurant. Come and see for yourself. We are open for lunch and dinner every day so come on i
Breaking my journey for the night in Kaikoura elected to eat at this restaurant right on the beach,as I had had a great meal there before. I chose the second most expensive dish on the menue, half a crayfish. The most expensive was a whole crayfish! It did not disappoint! Even the salad and herbed fries were tasty and I am not even a salad person.

We stopped here for a late lunch. I suspect this place works better in the evening, as almost empty at lunchtime it lacked atmosphere (and staff). The beer was good, but the food was uninspired and dull. In particular the rolls used with the burger and pulled pork dishes were like mass produced bakery goods from fifty years ago.The plus point was friendly staff, when you could find them.

We had heard about this resturant and decided to check it out. It was a cold Thursday evening outside and this was also the case inside until the heating was turned up. A small but interesting menu and our waiter who was the only staff member there apart from the Chef was really welcoming and professional. We ordered the Pate to share which was very tasty, smooth and well presented but was so small that it was hardly a dish for 2 people and at close to $20 was overprced. For mains we ordered their signature dish which was a glorified steak burger with fries which was very nice but the sauce called a beer-butter sauce that came with it was disgusting, My wife had the steak which she said was beautiful. So although the food was nicely cooked and presented it was overpriced for what it was.

Called in on a Sunday evening for a bite to eat. There was a trio playing jazz music and the atmosphere was great with a lot of people enjoying themselves, we just about managed to get a couple of seats in the bar! Great selection of beers on tap I was pretty spoilt for choice! For food my girlfriend had fish and chips which she reckons was the best so far sheâs had in NZ. I had the chorizo and sausage meatloaf which tasted great. My only criticism with my meal was that it needed a bit of altering, it came with onion rings and mash which I didnât find went very well together, but the meatloaf itself was so tasty! Apart from that a great little pub with top beers and tasty food, will definitely return

Rogues creates a captivating experience of uncompromising goodness. Step in from the hustle and bustle of Riccarton and unwind in understated style. Survey the street side atmosphere from the swanky vintage bar. Kick in for the afternoon in the laid back,
Very impressed with the food selection, very creative and can tell the chef is passionate about flavour and presentation.I had the balsamic beef cheek, it was cooked to perfection and even the greens were surprisingly flavourful. My husband had a bacon buttie, the bacon was crispy but was not greasy and the chutney inside was perfectly matched. We will definitely be back and try their dinner and dessert menu!!Thanks heaps for the fantastic review, appreciated. Will pass on your kind comments to the kitchen crew. The Balsamic Beef Cheek is a favourite amongst the team as well, it's a fantastic dish.Yes please do come back and see us for dinner or dessert some time soon.Regards S

Stopped off for a mid week lunch. The menu is basic, however the quality and presentation of the food is fantastic. The menu prices are in the $30.00 to $40.00 range for a generous main meal. Worth a look.

Stayed at Mt Hutt lodge for a week of skiing and adventuring with my youngest son. Arrived late the first Friday night and were warmly greeted by the 6ft leprechaun behind the bar. On such a busy night, we were seated at the âtractorâ and ordered Moroccan Lamb pizzas - wow, they were good! Washed down with some great draft Murphyâs Irish Stout, I was already in love with this place. Thanks to owners and hosts Gary and Karen Manning for making our visits so enjoyable and memorable.
