We found that finding dinner in Fontevraud-dâAbbaye a challenge. The first night the restaurant said they were closed (30 minutes before posted time). The next night they said we needed a reservation. So we were forced to look for dinner in a nearby town. We found this restaurant on the corner as we came to the river. We were seated at a table outside on a warm summer evening. I canât remember what my wife had but I ordered a beef steak with fries and lemon meringue pie for dessert. I forgot the beer too. Although it wasnât the best steak I had on this trip it was acceptable and the prices here were very reasonable. The service was friendly and quick too.

A bright, airy place or terrace. Imagine yourself having a drink, enjoying a specialty, having fun with your children or just for you. Imagine a place where it is good to meet friends for a warm evening dedicated to sharing and conviviality. Imagine also
I had a good impression of Chez Mimie before even laying eyes on it. Arriving late after a delayed flight, we called ahead, and they agreed to stay open past closing time to feed us. The meal was delicious, the managers as friendly as we'd expected, and we returned here every day of our weekend for more. Highly recommended.Thank you for your opinion !It was a pleasure to serve you and to make you discover our cuisine and vision of things. Looking forward to ..

Fresh meals prepared mostly with organic products (salads, panini, soups, local cooked meats, french pancakes, ice creams ...). The Terrasse Gourmande is inside the Fontevraud Royal Abbey. To get access in, you must have paid your fee ticket or having a r
The restaurant is inside the Abbaye, serves a limited menu, and the food is good quality. The price is on the high side, and given that the entrance to the Abbaye is in the centre of town, you would be better to eat there.Dear Jack and Sara, We thank for having shared your opinion on TripAdvisor. We are glad to read that you enjoyed your meal. Of course, you can enjoy a meal in another place in the village. However, our visitors have to be informed that any exit is permanent. Best wishes. Not to be mistaken for a restaurant or a brasserie! Instead, we are a cosy little bistrot (max. 25 seats) ! Enjoy simple bistrot fare freshly prepared on a daily basis, alongside quality niche wines sourced by Gerald from local producers and across France
I went with friends. about 2 years ago, the food was delicious and service very friendly. Something has changed...sadly....The service was brusque, the food was very average and a little overpriced......5 euros for egg mayonnaise? The 'black' burgers looked unappetising and were not good and the risotto was. very average indeed.A really diappointing experience I am sorry to say!
