Boscastle (Cornish: Kastel Boterel) is a village and fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Forrabury and Minster (where the 2011 Census population was included) . It is 14 miles (23 km) south of Bude and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Tintagel. The harbour is a natural inlet protected by two stone harbour walls built in 1584 by Sir Richard Grenville and is the only significant harbour for 20 miles (32 km) along the coast. The village extends up the valleys of the River Valency and River Jordan. Heavy rainfall on 16 August 2004 caused extensive damage to the village.

The staff behind the bar really friendly, nice cosy pub but the food not properly cooked, we got there at eight closely followed by two other couples and there was some discussion as to whether food was available as the chef wanted to finish up for the day so not sure if that's why the food wasn't so great chips still hard in the middle etc. Either way didn't go back again on our holiday.

Set in seven acres of wooded valley and garden on the north coast of Cornwall, The Mill House Inn is well known for its warm welcome and top quality food. The charming stone building was originally a corn mill, so the dining room boasts a high-beamed ceil
Read some good reviews so was a little disappointed when we ate here.Starters where OK soup and mussels could have done with a little extra in the sauce just seemed to be cream with no flavour. Mains I had the steak which most definelty didn't come as discribed, the actual steak was a nice peice but not cooked as requested came more rare than I would have liked. My husbands haddock and chips didn't look that inviting the batter was thick and tasted of soapy water when we told the staff they did nothing about it.An acceptable meal, nothing stunning, this could be a fantastic place but think the kitchen needs to up its game a bit.

Don't be put off by the Website for the Tintagel Arms - this is a legacy from previous owners. The food at Tintagel Arms is excellent and changes regularly depending on what is available locally. I have had hake, salmon and crab and several different starters at different times and the food has always been excellently cooked and imaginatively presented. The quantities have been first class. I eat here regularly, my last visit being on 26 July 2019 when I had hake. A large portion of hake, freshly and beautifully cooked in a Provencale sauce and locally sourced. The vegetables were served separately and, again, beautifully cooked. Service was very good, and the food was served quickly and was still hot when it arrived.Highly recommended and well worth a visit if you're looking for good food with decent portion size.

Having a few days down in Cornwall and staying near Camelford we were looking for a good place to get an evening meal. We visited Tintagel today and on speaking to a local person I asked did they know of any good places to get an evening meal near to where we were staying, they recommended this place.Pleased we went there, my wife and I had the trio of fish with the trimmings to go with it. It was an enjoyable meal and good portions as well. They start serving from 6 pm and we were the first in the dining area, by the time we left it was full on a Tuesday evening.

A 14th century inn offering bed & breakfast accommodation, an old country pub atmosphere, local ales and an exceptional restaurant. The Olde Malthouse Inn changed hands in June 2018 and has undergone extensive refurbishment throughout.
Came here with my mother and brother for a weekend for mums birthday. We were expecting pub food but had a wonderful surprise. The food is excellent...I had pork belly ... fab! My brother sea bass which he said was excellent and mum chicken pasta. Presentation was excellent. Puddings were also good .. cheeseboard was huge!! All the staff were lovely and v friendly ... atmosphere was also good. We will be back on our next Cornwall visit

After reading other reviews and noticing that they use locally sorced produce we decided to try out the breakfast in the cafe while staying in the area. We where greeted by very helpful staff who helped us with our order. Our breakfast arrived very promptly and the taste of the food was excellent. We'll certainly look forward to paying another visit the next time we're back in Cornwall .

Overlooking the harbour in the Cornish fishing village of Boscastle and surrounded by the beautiful North Cornwall coastline, the Wellington Hotel has been providing a warm welcome to its guests for many years. It is one of Cornwallâs oldest Coaching Inns
3 of popped in on the off chance that we could grab breakfast before the 7 hour journey home, it was 9.45, the lady on reception said that although breakfast was served till 10 the kitchen department may have already set up for lunch as all the pre booked breakfasts had been eaten, after a couple of phone calls she said it was fine and we followed her upstairs to the dining room, we all ordered the full Cornish breakfast, with cereal, fruit all available, the breakfast was very nice and at £10 not too bad a price, thank you to the lady on reception who was determined to sort our breakfast out, I didn't need to eat until nearly 10 hours later

Having visited earlier this year when in Boscastle with friends we loved this pub. This time we took a drive up while staying near St Austell with family. We booked a table to see the Boscastle Buoys and all had a great time. Food was brilliant and I highly recommend the ribs. Great choice of drinks with Ales served from the casks. Lovely old pub full of atmosphere.
