Whilst on holiday on the Isle of Wight we called into the White Lion (PO30 3AA) for dinner. Having been disappointed with other dining venues we were delighted to find a pleasant atmosphere, great service and a good, reasonably priced menu.A great find ... thoroughly recommend.Thank you for your great review, much appreciated. Glad you all enjoyed your meals . Best wishes Gary & Lou

Family friendly pub & restaurant with large outdoor play area and garden. Dogs welcome in pub and garden.
Lovely little country pub with separate dining area. Decor is fine, the restaurant area looks very recently done in fact. We had smoked haddock and the steak special, both very tasty, nicely presented. Good pub fare at a reasonable price. We shared slice of chocolate/strawberry cheesecake which was light and pleasing. Coffee average but fine with dessert. We booked ahead and the lady on the phone was very pleasant. All staff friendly and welcoming making for a very nice evening meal. Doorway in was a little tight to accommodate a wheelchair but manageable with care and ramp up helped. Highly recommended based on this visit.

Was recommended to eat here by our B&B owner who also told us to make sure we booked as it is small and usually very busy. Real old fashioned charming village pub with an italian menu comprising pizza and pasta and much more. Went for the "life changing" lasagne which was very nice and the wife had the sea bass which was served on a bed of tagiatelle also very good. Service is good and friendly staff made it a nice atmosphere for a pleasant evening.

Beautiful thatched Restaurant, Tearoom & Tavern, Gift Shop and Shanklin Tourist Information with lovely sunny Tea & Beer gardens next to Old Shanklin Village car park
Fantastic return visit to Vernonâs Cottage, which is simply our favourite restaurant on the island. From the lovely owners whom we sat and spoke to and whom talked openly talked about their resident ghost, to the fantastically fresh cooked food, to the romantic / relaxed candlelit ambiance, all was superb and faultless in every way.The food was tasty, well priced, good value for money and fresh. The service was quick and the food piping piping hot. It was also so nice to have that personal touch of chatting with the owners, in such a relaxed, beautiful environment.Would most definitely recommend and will certainly look to return.

Our first time here for a meal and we were initially happy. Nice restaurant/pub with a nice ambiance. Menu choices were rather small which was disappointing and prices were higher that most competitors in the area. I was rather amazed that when choosing a Burger the chips were an extra charge of £2. Rather odd because who has a burger meal without the chips. My wife chose to have sweet potato chips with hers and our friend had pork belly with sweet potato chips. However the chips turned up and were almost cold. On mentioning this to the staff they were immediately replaced. We dine out collectively as a group once a month but would not rate the Taverners as one of the best we have eaten in, although we will return again to see how things fare next time.

Kynges Well is a family run pub situated in the historic town of brading, on the Isle of Wight. We serve fresh, homemade meals daily - using all local produce and our specials board is updated daily with a traditional roast dinner available on Sundays. Li
The modest frontage hides a large dining area, and though the car park is small there is more parking not far uphill. Interesting menu with a good gluten free selection served by genuinely helpful, interested and engaging staff. Big portions so you may not need a starter or dessert! Almost merits five stars but the food was a bit cold and my fish slightly over cooked ( though there was a sudden rush of people just as we arrived) and there is stiff competition on the island in god pub food. Donât let my rating put you off as weâd certainly go again.

A warm welcome awaits at The Pointer, where Landlord and Lady, Rob and Rachel, invite you to join them in one of the Islands oldest, most historic pubs.
Stopped here on a Monday lunchtime for some refreshment after a 20 minutes ride from the ferry at East Cowes. Good beer as youâd expect from Fullers. Friendly and helpful staff in a lovely cosy bar. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, especially the ploughmans lunch.

We called here having been on the Steam railway and it was a gem of a find. Friendly staff and a great choice of food. We had prawns in a rose Marie sauce in white bread, Two lamb pies, with lots of lamb in and two ploughman's. All very good portions. Possibly the best meal we had on the Isle of Wight. £42.06 for five of us including drink it was very good value
