A warm welcome awaits you in this recently refurbished pub at the heart of its local community Oxclose. The Ox & Plough has been at the centre of village life since 1978 and has been the hub of many locals since that day. We offer a wide range of lagers,
Came on Sunday to have the Xmas lunch, and as with all their food it didn't disapoint.Perfect amount, turkey was so tender and juicy, starter of potatoes and leak soup was amazing, and the desert unreal, chef really did himself proud with this Xmas meal. The Ox just constantly impresses and is always worth a visit for food and drink, keep it up.

Visited here last week and it was honestly one of the best meals Iâve eaten in a long time. Food was absolutely faultless and beautifully cooked. The venue is clean and very well organised and the staff are wonderful. My partner and I were served by a young gentleman named Patrick and he made us feel so at home and gave us brilliant recommendations.Myself and my partner have already spoken about booking for a birthday coming up as thereâs something for everyone to enjoy. Weâll definitely be back before then, already craving some more of that slawHi Simonerowe! Thanks for taking the time to give us a glowing review and thanks for your kind words! I'll be sure to pass on your awesome feedback to Patrick and the Chefs!Look forward to seeing you for your birthday celebrationsLove The Porkys Team xx

Friendly bar/ restaurant. Situated on the river Wear in Fatfield. Large outside patio overlooking the river. Serving good food and a wide range of drinks.
Food was fresh and tasty, one of the nicest meals I've had in a while!! I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact i didn't like any of the fancy butterfly chicken toppings so asked for just peppercorn sauce on instead (much cheaper option) but had to pay £3 extra on top, didn't make sense buy anyway love the food.

This Sonnet 43 Brew Pub and Restaurant, has recently been refurbished to a very high standard offering locally sourced food from the finest of suppliers. You are guaranteed a warm and freindly welcome.
Well, a nice welcome and assistance carrying luggage, so a good start. The room was ok at the outset, not too small and a good-sized bathroom. Internet and TV reception was poor. We were meeting friends for dinner, and I have to say, the meal was very nice, although they didn't have enough fillet steaks for all of us. Good service, good desserts. However, in the room, the hairdryer didn't work, and although I rang down to reception, by the time I was offered an alternative.....drying my hair in another room....it was far too late. The toilet seat was "loose". We didn't bother to report it as we were only staying the one night. It was a means to an end, meeting up with friends, but not sure why it is 4 star.

Champs Sports Bar and Grill is located in Washington, 2 minutes from Junction 64 on the A1 North and South Bound. With a great offer, great atmosphere and great food Champs is the place to be. There is something on our menu for everyone from salads to ste
Staying in a nearby hotel visiting relatives we decided to have our evening meal in Champs, big mistake, there was no draught beer available so we ordered alternative drinks while perusing the menu. There was absolutely nothing for the vegan member of our party. Do they not realise that we are now in the 21st century? No excuse, every establishment should have vegan options on the menu.Hi Stewart237.As you were informed at the time of your visit, we had a problem with our cellar gas which meant we had no draught beer, this problem was totally out of our hands and was rectified as quickly as possible. We did reply to your email regarding vegan options, and did let you know that we had very little choice for this dietary requirement. However we take your comments on board and will be adding in Vegan options onto our next menu.We hope to see you again soon.Regards

We visited here today for lunch and we were all really impressed! 1 of us chose the hot beef and onion baguette which came with chips and 2 of us had the lasagne off the lunch menu which came with either chips or garlic bread. All meals were beautiful! Friendly staff, friendly warm atmosphere and excellent prices! We will definitely be back!

We visit quite regularly and continue to be impressed with the quality and consistency. The menu is always extensive with some quite ambitious and tasty 'specials' always available. Another impressive feature is that they are able to tweak the menu to suit the customer where possible. Portions are plentiful and there is no compromise on quality. Good, well kept, beer is on offer. Prices are very reasonable for what is provided. Service is first class .Special mention for Linda for her humour alongside her very dedicated and professional approach at all times.
