So we were recommended this eatery by a local hotel as we also had our dog with us. We booked a table and made our way to the restaurant- also checking the website for anything saying no dogs.We got to the front door to be told that our dog was too big (he is a collie) especially for a weekend. So we walked back out and eat elsewhere. Very disappointed in the service which we received in the 30 seconds that we were there. You are either dog friendly or you are not, make up your mind!!!!!

A landmark dining destination in the historic town of Bath, The Chequers is a beautifully restored gastropub on Rivers Street that has been serving customers since 1776. Offering a slice of local living to visitors from out of town, The Chequers is an ele

The Rose & Crown is a gorgeous Victorian pub set in the trendy Larkhall area of Bath, often dubbed 'the village in the city'.Full of charm and character, the pub boasts wooden floors, an open fire, cosy chairs and a mediterranean style courtyard garden. I
This pub is the other side of Bath from where I live.Had walked to a nearby pub on Sunday and then around the corner to here. Not too busy when we arrived and served by a very friendly and informative young lady.Found a beer we had not drank before "Bank For" by Independant Industries-all new to us.Nothing special but nice and not expensive.i think they were serving food but apart from a man and young lad who left as we arrived no one was eating.

When the King William restaurant in Bath was converted from the knackered pub it used to be, it became it gastronomic hotspot for Bath-ites who adore the excellent food and relaxed setting. The ground floor is a pub, with the fine dining room upstairs, al
Came here with a friend for dinner based on the reviews. The building is lovely, full of character and tastefully decorated with an intimate feel so the ambience is great. Initial impressions as we were shown to our table were excellent. There were two women undertaking the service and the clearly more experienced one was very good. However, the younger woman didn't appear to ever have worked in a restaurant before that evening as the experience was more like a live Fawlty Towers episode. The food itself was pretty good. However, my steak at the best part of £30 was not good value and was overcooked (ordered medium) along with overcooked fries. We mostly enjoyed the food which was good but not special and in fact the chocolate brownie for dessert was excellent. I asked for mustard with my steak and after 10 minutes and no mustard I again asked the same person who looked at me as if I'd asked for something bizarre and she'd never heard the request before and I wondered if I'd stumbled on a parallel universe. Mustard did eventually arrive once I had eaten half my steak. At the end of the meal my friend asked for the bill. This was brought with the card machine whilst the waitress hovered behind him and peered over his shoulder (a new one on me). Then when he was using the card machine she offered to enter the tip for him into the machine - I've probably eaten out over a thousand times but I've never seen that happen anywhere in the world!! We couldn't decide whether to be appalled or burst out laughing. Perhaps some training of the people who work here might be in order?

We were recommended this pub by a friend and it didnât disappoint. Staff were friendly and the landlord made a real effort to make conversation ( a rare breed!) We ordered the soup and sandwiches which was amazing! It was so good we went back the next day for lunch again! A delightful little pub with a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely go back when we visit Bath again.

Lovely lunch here on Friday. Excellent food with prompt friendly service. I had the Somerset Reuben sandwich which I can recommend. The beef dripping chips as a side order were delicious.

We waited a long time for our order and when it arrived the wrap was burnt. The waitress said she had "mentioned it to the chef" - any chef would not have served burnt food. £2 taken off the bill for one drink.Hello Julie, We are sorry to hear you had such an unpleasant experience with us. We would love to invite you in for a free lunch/dinner on us as an away of an apology (main and a drink), if you would like to come in please contact the sales team on [email protected] and they will be able to help you. We have also passed this feedback onto the kitchen and our Front of House staff and reiterated the importance of ensuring all food meets our high standards.

We at to book late as Bath Rugby were home where the fans do a lot of pre-match drinking. So we booked for a 3pm lunch which was excellent and good beer with excellent service fro landlord and his staff. Also rugby was live on the TV screens so saved a £40 match fee!

The Rising Sun Inn is an independanly run pub and Bed & Breakfast. Perfectly located in the heart of historic Bath, only 2 minutes walk from Pulteney Bridge and Bath Rugby ground, we serve fresh (and locally sourced where possible) home cooked food.
We had a delicious Sunday lunch here first time even though it is on our doorstep the roast potatoes were wonderful and very tender beef . Pudding was far too nice will be dreaming of them for a wile. Our hosts were the nicest most genuine couple made us feel very welcome unfortunately unlike a rather loud table next to us who obviously took a dislike to us we should have asked to be moved but that does seem a bit embarrassing but we were not put off by this just giggled each to their own.We will certainly be returning and recommending.Roll on the next time.Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I'm sorry about the noisy table near to you but glad that it didn't spoil your Sunday lunch experience with us and we very much look forward to welcoming you back and making your pudding dreams a reality once more !!
