Reviews on Bar food in Bar Harbor, Maine, United States. Mansions and majestic hotels serve as reminders of Bar Harbor’s past (in the 19th century, it was a favorite vacation spot of society’s upper crust). Today, visitors kayak, explore Acadia National Park, go bird- or whale-watching, and enjoy salty sea air and sandy beaches.

We went out on a Sunday evening looking at recommended restaurants only to be told by staff that there was a 45 minute wait. We chanced upon Paddy's, which although busy still had tables. Greeted by very friendly staff. Food was lovely. the whole experience was most enjoyable.

We traveled 1100 miles for a special anniversary and saved our big dinner out for Testa's. The reviews and menu online looked promising. First impression walking in was that it was dirty. Rug - really greasy and in need of cleaning. Didn't feel promising. We should have left. I had poached lobster in butter sauce ($35) and it had poached too long. Tail was so small, too. My husband ordered seafood dish with sherry cream sauce. Very disappointing. Poorly seasoned and proportions of whatever was in the sauce was way off. It was thick and tasteless. $100 later and we left disheartened.

This wasn't our first choice (it was the Side Street Cafe's first day closed for the season). But this place was suggested by someone closing the Side Street Cafe. We were not disappointed. My wife and our youngest started with the garlic bread. My wife had the blackened fish sandwich with fries. I had the fried haddock sandwich with onion rings. Our daughter had a garden salad. Everything was good.

Open 7 days a week serving lunch and dinner! Established in 1981 The West Street Cafe continues to please with good food at good prices. Stop by to visit our spacious beautiful new digs.
Cruised to Bar Harbor, first visit, expecting fabulous experience of a lobster roll. The $34.00 special of lobster roll, french fries, clam chowder, was anything but special. Very small serving of Clam chowder was delivered to our table lukewarm and tasted no better than some off the shelf canned variety. I sent it back to the kitchen. The fries were not crispy, delicious or hot. Soggy. And lukewarm. Mediocre to poor. Iâm certain these were frozen commercial low quality fries and not fresh cut. I could make them better in our home oven. The chopped lobster pieces were laid atop a basic unimaginative, tasteless white-bread bun. The lobster was of such small quantity it was disappointing and the taste was uninspiring. A very small cup of average coleslaw was included. The blueberry pie crust was good. The blueberry filling was good. The platter was very overpriced - a sandwich and soup and fries and pie $34.00. Never again folks.

We wanted a casual dinner on our first night in Bar Harbor. Learyâs Landing was a great choice. The service was almost too quick! The food was excellent and big servings. We had fish & chips and shepherdâs pie, and we split a Caesar salad. Everything was very good. Excellent beer selection and creative cocktail list. Definitely worth a visit.

The Black Friar Inn and Pub is a hidden gem; once you find it we guarantee you will be back! Our three story building is mostly constructed from materials salvaged from the mansions that burned in the great fire of 1947. In season, our highly rated restau
Arrived on a Monday evening at 6:30 PM. No one at the entrance,we proceeded into a room where 4 people were sitting. They told us they were waiting to be seated. We waited as well, for 10 minutes. Another couple had also joined the wait. Finally a woman came out and stared at us. One of the women from the first group said âwe are a party of fourâ. The response? The woman with the pub said âI understand that. Iâm trying to figure out how many people we have hereâ and stormed out. Very rude. My wife and I looked at each other and decided they neither wanted nor deserved our business. We chose this place based on TripAdvisor, so I thought it important to know what the service is like. Laughably bad. Literally angry with customers because they were waiting to be seated.Hello SJG1956,I am sorry you did not have a good experience entering the Friar! We do try to greet everyone who comes in and the party of 4 who were waiting on the couch were greeted by one of our employees and told we would be getting a table for them shortly. When another employee exited the kitchen and was delivering food to a table they were blocked by you and was demanded "how long is the wait!" The woman responded "I understand you are waiting but when we figure out who and how many we have first you we will know more, I need to deliver this food. " and she delivered the food she was holding to the appropriate table. She certainly did not storm out, she was just trying to deliver hot food to a table. When the food was dropped off she returned to the lounge to assess who and how many were waiting, you had already left. We have no control over how busy we become and at what time during the dinner service, you did come in when at the height of the rush and since we only have 12 tables and 7 are for parties of two there can be a wait. Patience and understanding are always appreciated. Hopefully you will give our food a try in the future :)

We loved Side Street Cafe. The menu is large and offers a lot of options. The french fries are AMAZING. I also really enjoyed their Emmy sandwich (added chicken) for a healthier lunch option. Great place to go after a long day hiking in Acadia.

We are a small, family owned farm-to-table restaurant on the edges of Sweet Peaâs Farm & Bar Harbor Cellars Winery. We use local caught, raised, foraged, or farmed ingredients and always feature daily menu additions built from the morningâs harvest. Our m
We read some very positive reviews about this place and realized we were staying very close to SPC. What happy diners we were this evening! We walked into a crowded dining room but Christian got us seated pretty quickly at the bar. Our special appetizers (roasted string beans/potatoes/onions in balsamic vinegar as well as Italian green olives not EVOO and lemon verbena) and Hunter pizza were great, drinks were also quite good , service by Cosmo was friendly and helpful, and everything was so thoroughly pleasing. We have one more evening here and weâll be back for another dinner!

The Stadium is a fast casual restaurant with two floors of seating inside of a sports stadium. Food is served in the rear of the first floor at a ballpark concession themed walk-up counter. The second floor is reserved for serving lobster dinner packages
Everything I had here during my few days in Bar Harbor was excellent. The wild blueberry pie is homemade, and it is wonderful, without too much sugar. The Lobster Rolls were great, and the staff really interacts with the customers, giving lessons on how to open lobsters correctly, asking how the food is, even offering to go back downstairs for you if you want to order something else. This is a don't-miss in a town I found overall to be too crowded and full of kitschy touristy items.
