Things to do in Bahia de Caraquez

This trendy sports bar popular for live music and sporting events has relocated to the edge of the estuary in the old yacht club. Full of positive energy in the midst of earthquake destruction. Open daily with a limited but varying menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a refreshing cocktail anytime.

We are located on the Malecon just at the base of the bridge. Just look for the sailboats.
Mobile review, so please excuse brevity and any typos.Puerto Amistad must be doing something right, as we visited twice during our stay in Bahia de Caraquez. Its top selling point is the view; as the restaurant is situated literally over the water on the river side of the peninsula. With Pilsner grande cerveza (large bottles of Ecuadorian beer) very competitively priced at only $2, one can easily pass a relaxing afternoon or evening here. For the most part, the food was good, with nothing we tried (from camarones (shrimp) to chicken to a burger) seriously missing the mark. Meal prices would be considered mid-range for Bahia de Caraquez: $6-10 plus beverage/tax/service charge. The only serious sour note we're the small ice chunks in our vanilla bean helado (ice cream).Service tended to be slower than what seems to be the typical "relaxed" Ecuadorian pace. If you want another beer, for instance, you will have to catch the server's eye, and beckon him/get over, irrespective of how long one's mug sits empty.Overall, however, we have no hesitation recommending Puerto Amistad for a meal or just a cold drink.

Were told by our B&B host to try them outâ¦great recommendation. Grilled meat the specialty: huge bowl of plantain chips with 3 dips / condiments. Rack of about 5 Pork ribs was tender and tasty, with potatoes, big salad for $8, the pinchos (meat kabobs) were tasty as well, $2 each. Beer was cold, and our waitress was funny and feisty. Definitely a locals place, people seemed sort of surprised we were there, but were very friendly, and we got a lot of âbuen provechos,â as well as a parting hug from our waitress!
