I was somewhat nervous when a friend suggested we try the Belvedere for dinner given the mixed reviews. I neednât have worried. We were welcomed at the door and offered a choice of tables, and the opportunity to order drinks which were swiftly delivered. The menu is extensive but not absurdly eclectic and there is plenty of choice for veggies and carnivores alike. In the event my friend and I both opted for the scallops to start. They were prepared in tempura. Having lived in Japan, I am used to vegetables prepared in tempura but never scallops, so this was a new one on me. The actual scallops were very good though Iâm not convinced that they were improved by batter. Anyway, I enjoyed the experience. For our mains we both chose burgers: I took the veggie burger and he took the dirty burger. Both were also very good. Some of the criticism of the Belvedere is that it is over-priced: it is not cheap, but the quality of the food, the attentive service and the environment are all very amenable. It was an enjoyable evening and I would happily return.Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!

Used to eat here a few years ago and it was really good, but visited recently and was disappointed to see how far it has sunk. Service was very good (though would expect this to be the case being that they now automatically add a 10% service charge to your bill...)Sadly the same cannot be said for the food, which took an age to come, and transpired to be greasy and lacking in flavour. To rub salt in the wound, the restaurant staff saw fit to allow a troop of knuckle-dragging beer louts into the dining area, so what was intended as a quiet meal deteriorated quickly into a miasma of vulgarity. Unlikely to return.Thank you for the feedback. We are really disappointed to hear of the experience you had on your visit. We have just introduced a new autumn menu which we are really confident youâll love so please give us another chance. We take on your points regarding sitting drinking groups in the restaurant. This should not have happened and understand how this can very easily spoil a nice quiet evening out. Apologies. We hope you reconsider and come back soon.

Bar and Restaurant, with a nightclub at the rear, we show live sport in the bar area and fine dining with a mix of English and Mediterranean food in the restaurant area
Needed somewhere to eat before attending a race meeting at Ascot. The bar was rammed full of people but surprisingly only one table was occupied in the restaurant. From the off service was very good and orders for drinks and food were taken in acceptable time scales. In the main food quality and quantity was good. The menu is extensive too. Prices are a little high but given the location its what you'd expect to see.

Our traditional 16th century English country pub is set in some of Berkshire's finest countryside, and was originally a set of cottages belonging to local woodmen. With flagstone floors and open fires, it's a charming, historic setting for lunch, dinner a
We have not been to the pub for a drink or meal in the restaurant for quite a long time. We were impressed with the friendly service and general ambiance of the restaurant area. The food was very good two of us having the nights special tomahawk pork chop and one the pigeon. Everyone enjoyed their food very much, and even though the pigeon was a little difficult to eat after the plates had been cleared away the waitress came back to the table and said that meal would be taken off our bill. This was excellent service and handled extremely well by both kitchen and front of house staff. We shall all definitely be returning in the future.

A meeting place in the heart of Ascot for over 140 years, now this historic building has been refurbished, remade and redesigned. A place where the past meets the present, where log fires meet Mediterranean-inspired food, where cask ales meet wood fired p
We was amazed that we found our favourite waitress Lorraine working the Royal foresters in Ascot. She always looked after us in another restaurant, her service has not changed and because we were new to this restaurant she was full of recommendationsWe had a sharing platter to start and then i had the lamb greek salad and hubby had the milanese chicken burger with sweet potato fries which was both cooked to perfection. We had the churros to share for our desert. We have to say this place is amazing and a great find and especially with our favourite waitress working there .We came at a very busy time and the service was impeccable ,we will definitely be back 10/10 Great service and dining ,can highly recommendHi Yvonne J, Thank you for taking the time to leave this fantastic review! The Dog and Partridge offers a comfortable space for socialising and meeting friends over a drink or two or having a meal in our well established restaurant. Part of our success is the warm welcome you get from the owners Grace and Tomasz and the rest of
We went to the Dog and Partridge for Sunday lunch and the food is nice although a little pricey. After spending quite a large amount of money, the barman (or he could have been the landlord) was really rude towards us. It was really irrational and quite upsetting - I believe he thought we were being too noisy but there was only 4 of us (2 couples) and we were sat in the garden that was practically empty. You want to be able to go to a pub to chat and relax which is impossible with this barman around. We won't be going back while he is there.Dear JoWe are really sorry about your terrible experience you have received on your last visit to Dog and Partridge. This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated by our company and the person in question has now left.Hope to see you again at some point in the future.Regards Tomasz and Grace

Built around 1480, The Thatched Tavern was originally a farmhouse with a croft (a small farm). There was also a Blacksmiths forge at the back of the building where the kitchen hatch is now, and a wood store at the end of the bar.During the reign of Queen
Amazing place. Had a wonderful evening with fabulous food and excellent wine along with amazing customer service. Our attendant Tom was outstanding, his customer service skills were on point. First thoughts were that the menu is rather extensive which sometimes means not so good food. Some restaurateurs think offering customers a wide array of items will be more appealing. It doesnât take long to realise that an overly large menu includes an excessive amount of prep time, the bigger chance of food spoilage than a smaller, more streamlined menu.As for La Cloche, my opinion is that whilst the food was on average 7/10 we maybe had chosen the wrong dishes. I had the starter special of fish soup and my wife had the french onion soup. The fish soup was quite good and the onion soup whilst reasonably tasty but was possibly heated up in a microwave as it burnt your mouth if not blown on to for a long time. For mains I had fish pie and my wife the ratatouille. Fish pie again was possibly microwaved and finished off under the grill to melt the cheese. Couldnât eat it for about five minutes as it was far too hot. Never had fish pie with mashed fish before, I had one prawn, one scallop and the rest mashed potatoes and tiny pieces of mashed fish but hardly any creamy sauce.Being used to very good restaurants and prepared to pay well for good food we found La Cloche rather lacking. For these prices, a reasonable but certainly not a great night. Best course of the evening was the fresh bread. Service was average and lacked attention to detail such as removing the unwanted wine glasses and nobody bothered to ask if everything was OK. Wonât bother to return and does the manager ever bother to smile?
