The oldest hotel in Western Australia, est 1835 and still in service. Great food excellent selection of beers on tap and local wines and quality accomodation in the centre of town
Have always dined at the Albany when we come down as we have a holiday house. I wasnât aware that it had new owners till I read the reviews. I ordered Thai beef salad and hubby steak sandwich My salad was nothing about Thai, no coriander, no Thai marinade or sauce. The beef was covered in a sticky saucy marinade and the crispy noodles is Chinese not Thai. Husbandâs steak was grissly and seemed like it was steamed not grilled. I said to my husband that this is not the normal good meals weâve had here. Looks like we will have to find another restaurant. our young waiter though nice enough, seemed very shy and need bit of guidance on how to interact with customers
This is a great place to stop for some lunch, there are many options available... from memory: hot chips, pies, sandwiches/wraps made to order, cold pre-made sandwiches, cold drinks, etc. There is also a seating area inside with some local newspapers to read in a relaxing atmosphere. I recently ordered a salad/meat wrap and it was delicious and very full (unlike some restaurants that only put a few things in). Staff are always friendly and polite. There is angle parking available outside the shop. Overall, I recommend this as a spot to stop!

People kept telling us about this place and we couldn't wait to try it. The views are amazing but the venue is a huge shed-like place with no atmosphere or charm other than the outlook. The restaurant has a great wine list but the food is very average. More pub-like than a restaurant. Burgers, fish and chips, a curry dish, bangers and mash, steak sandwiches and so on are the mainstays on the menu. Having to order at the bar does nothing to enhance its atmosphere. Glad we went but I think the hype is not warranted. Won't be rushing back.

Great location at the end of Middleton Beach surrounded by pines and with lots of parking. 3Anchors is in 2 parts, a great little cafe and a bar/ bistro offering a good range of pub meals. Try the beignets in the cafe, freshly made and steaming with a wonderful coffee.

Delightful intimate dining in a cosy restaurant/bar with soft music, relaxed atmosphere, unobtrusive but attentive service and outstanding food and wine. We had a delicious homemade spicy sausage gnocchi with tomato sauce (light pillows of gnocchi and delicious tomato) and the most scrumptious ploughmanâs board groaning under the weight of cold meats, duck pate, picked veggies, cheeses, hummus and hard boiled egg. Our Olympian waiter even managed to carry it in one hand (though I couldnât). It took me 40 minutes of bliss to polish it off. Complemented by some wonderful local wines this made for a very special dining experience.

Here at the earl of spencer, we see ourselves as a family friendly venue. We have a large beer garden that is non smoking, kids play area, live music every saturday from 7pm & Sunday from 5pm and an all day snack menu. Lunch where nothing is over $20 for
Great meals and variety of beers on tap. The pie/chips with pint of beer is a great value meal. The pie is large with excellent braised beef and pastry. Other meal options are very good. The inn is a reminder of colonial days, like many in Ireland and Britain.

Our initial experience was fantastic. Attentive staff, food great and quick service for main. Unfortunately that is where the service ended. We finished our mains and our plates just sat there. Everyone else in the tavern left, and it was as though we were invisible. It appeared that the end of night clean up was taking place around us. We waited patiently for an offer of dessert but it did not come. Not a great end to the night. Hi there, thanks so much for leaving us a review; we appreciate all the feedback we receive. Sorry to hear that the service you received with us was disappointing - this does not reflect the customer experience we aim to provide. Our History. The White Hart Hotel, owned by Southern Brewing Co. was one of Albany's first local breweries until it shut down in 1906. In 1909 the building was demolished for construction of a new two-story building. The White Star Hotel opened in 1910. T
We spent two nights in Albany as part of a WA road trip. We dined at the White Star on both nights. A very relaxing atmosphere and excellent food. I had the fish of the day (groper) on both occasions. It was beautifully cooked and very tasty. We were a group of four and all agreed that this was a top place to eat.

The Six Degrees was near our lodging in Albany and we strolled by on Stirling St. several evenings. At first glance I thought it would be a noisy pub and not good for casual dining and conversation. Turned into a nice surprise. The crowd in the early evening was more boomer than hipster, the food was decent, the pub staff super friendly, and the music not earsplitting once inside. We enjoyed a nice pub meal with satay starters, nice hot pumpkin -bacon soup, fish and chips. Decent beer and wine by the glass. The barman kept a tab on our credit card so we didn't have to search for cash on every order. Not fine dining but decent pub food. Good job!
