Attending a gig in the Ziggo Dome, this was the ideal venue for a bite to eat. After initially being unsure of how to get a table we soon were shown one. Beers took a while to arrive but were good when we got them. We both ordered a German inspired burger, topped with a creamy soft blue cheese, German ham and sauerkraut. They took quite a while to arrive but were well worth the wait, they were excellent. We were fir to burst busy the end of the meal. Overall, great food but slowish service.

The Cottage is a cosy little all day pub with a British inspired menu packed with comfort food classics.
Me and my boyfriend got food poisoning at the cottage - I had the Sweet Cottage breakfast and my boyfriend had the Sunday Roast. About 6 hours later we are both throwing up and having a bad food poisoning, one of the worst experiences I've ever had (the typical symptoms.. you get it) which ruined our entire evening and night. Like this wasn't bad enough, the "apology" and explanation I got from the restaurant was even worse. I called the Cottage the day after to share my experience and tell them to check their kitchen, with the man on the phone telling me a half-assed 'sorry' and that he could give me a coffee if I come over. Then, he goes on to tell me that it is very unlikely that me and my boyfriend got food poisoning at their place, as "you both ate very different things that are prepared differently". This person did not seem to understand even remotely how food poisoning is caused - as if it was simply determined by eating the same dishes. He told me that I probably got the flu or "simply got sick". I couldn't believe what I was hearing, instead of apologising he was making it sounds like it was impossible that we got food poisoning at the cottage, that I got it from somewhere else and he could make it up by giving me coffee if I come by again. I went on to tell him about my symptoms and the circumstances, where he then tells me "well, what do you want me to do about it?" He simply was speaking to me like he assumed I wanted financial compensation, while I only wanted to be kind to inform them about the situation and that they should check their kitchen. The rudest and most insincere apology I have ever received - not to mention that he wanted to make it up with a coffee. What a joke. Do NOT go here if you want to get sick badly!Dear Helen, We are very sorry you are feeling the way you do. First and foremost we hope you and your boyfriend get well soon. Secondly our apologies if you feel mistreated by our conversation on the phone. That was of course not our intention. When you called yesterday and explained to me the symptoms of your illness we took it very serious. We have the intention that every guest at The Cottage has a pleasant visit, both in terms of the quality of service as the quality of the chosen meal and/or drinks. Having listened to your story I offered my sympathies for your situation. I also explained that it is highly unlikely (though not impossible) that you got food poisoning from us. You and your boyfriend had different dishes which are prepared in completely different ways. The dishes you had are our most popular dishes of the day and we didnât get any other complaints/stories from any of our other guests. Also our staff enjoyed the roast without any complains afterwards. Like I said before, that makes it highly unlikely (though not impossible). Our kitchen is thorougly cleaned every night and we have a professional cleaner every morning but we double checked everything last night. We donât want to turn this into a yes/no conversation between us since nobody will be helped with that. You have our sincere apologies about the way you feel treated on the phone and you are more than welcome to come by to speak with us in person about this. Kind regards,The Cottage

My family, a group of 6, entered the restaurant at 11pm. We sat down, looking at the menu, and was, apologetically told that the kitchen was closed. The waiter offered us pasta options. However, we thanked the waiter, but kindly declined and proceeded to leave the restaurant. The owner saw us leaving and instructed his staff to reopen the kitchen, restart the grill, and serve us from the full menu. This was above and beyond customer service. Our waiter, Nawid, provided excellent service to us, and all of the food was amazing! Aki Akram(owner), my family (first time visitors) , appreciate and thank you for your customer service!

Nederlandse keuken op eigen wijze! Een mooie gezellige zaak in een huiskamer sfeer. Kom genieten van onze gastvrijheid en natuurlijk het lekkere eten!
Decided to stay just outside Amsterdam for this visit, and Weesp seemed a little quieter and more quaint than some of the other locations. Not a huge choice of restaurants near our hotel, this was only a few doors down and looked fairly busy for a Wednesday night, so we thought we would give it a go.Had a really nice meal here, the steak was cooked perfectly and really tasty. We also had the starter platter of cheese and sausage which we enjoyed. The staff were very attentive (perhaps a little too much - but thats not a complaint!) Prices werent unreasonable, pretty fair for the standard of food, but its not cheap pub grub, its a little more refined,.

Visited Loetje on Tuesday 06 Aug 2019. 4 people two friends heading to Schiphol for their flight back home to the UK. We sat outside near the riverside. Ordered the 16 piece starter and meat balls in sauce. Delicious. We could have ordered another round! But we didn't for fear of not enjoying the main course. Next we all had the Beef Tenderloin with Loetje Jus. Thank goodness for the bread as we all moped our plates and we could have request more but we didn't like to be seen to be pigs. The Beef was succulent (medium rare) and more or less melted in the mouth. Chips were hot and browned beautifully - very tasty! The two salads (very tasty and nearly over flooded the dish) between 4 people were very generous and to be honest we could have just ordered 1 salad. I mean salad or chips "health conscious" or "bugger the diet!!!" Lol What would you choose? Lastly only two of us had a desert! Coffee liqueur and 2 chocolates. Perfect and our other guest had the Sticky Toffer Pudding. Again a good portion of the pudding with cream. We all had a taste by the way! This looked and tasted light and it was again delicious. A nice syrup helped the desert go down very well. Our friends admitted that they wished they had a similar restaurant close to them in County Durham, where they could go to for snacks or a main meal. They were also overwhelmed by the hospitality of the staff. Great experience!

We had read up about De Proefzaak and we couldn't wait to visit here and we were not disappointed.Housed in a unique building,it looks like an old air raid shelter with a great outside seating area, the interior is cool with great decor and furnishings including shiny brewing vats prominently on display ,it's just a cool place to enjoy a beer or two .My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday afternoon and this place was packed,we got a couple of their IPA style beers and these were served in perfect condition,we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular brewpub. As much as I enjoy the local beers such as Heineken,Amstel,Gulpener,Bavaria and the like it's just so nice enjoying a quality crafted beer and the beers brewed here are quality. We ended up staying here for a couple of beers each before we moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed indeed with De Proefzaak. De Proefzaak is really easy to locate by jumping the metro down to stop Bulliwijk ( 50 or 54 ) and walk down Karpeldeep and cut onto Hullenbergweg were you will find this brewpub .Opening hours are;Monday, closed.Tuesday & Wednesday,11.30am till 10pm.Friday to Saturday,11.30am till Midnight. Sunday, closed.A great brewpub and one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area. Dear Neil,We were so happy and excited to read your amazing review. Thank you for writing this story about us and about your experience at De Proefzaak. The most important thing is that you and your twin brother enjoyed your time with us and our beers. We hope to see you back here in the near future. Cheers and kind regards,The entire team of the brewery and the tasting room!

Last week, ai had dinner here with my friend who lives in Abcoude. For some reason, we often pick this place, despite Abcoude having a number of good restaurants around. The place is located in the heart of the centre and it is housed in a nice old building on the corner, with a nice view on the bridge. Summertimes, this place is well visited, mainly also because of the nice outside terrace. Inside they have a large classic bar together with some nice marble tables where you can sit for dinner. The menu is simple with a slight french twist. You can find Burgers, Meat, Fish and also vegetarian dishes on it and for kids they also do a special 3 course menu. On top of this they also have dishes to share and a cheese menu. Plenty of choice I would say. we had a Pastrami dish to start with, which was very nice (for me they could've left out the cream cheese though) and fish and a burger as a main course. Portion were quite good. Service is good and friendly here and they do try their best to make yo feel at home..
