I arrived before 6pm on a Monday night and wasn't too worried when the restaurant was empty. The room was cold, the lighting was poor and, despite being the only person there, the service wasn't very attentive. The menu was a very cheap-looking double sided A4 laminate and it didn't feel particularly clean. The seekh kebab starter was a bargain at only £2.95. It was a large portion but the meat was very chewy, barely warm and didn't have much flavour. Because it was so quiet in the restaurant I could hear a microwave being set and pinging a couple of minutes later in the kitchen - my main course was being prepared! The garlic naan tasted great but it was far too thick and doughy. The longer it stood, the stodgier it got, and I didn't eat much of it. The onion pilau was nice. There was lots of chicken tikka in the Pakwan, and the sauce was wonderful, packed full of flavour and very spicy. The meat, however, was quite chewy.Oddly, the waiter was chatty towards the end of the meal and it would have been a much better experience if he had been like this throughout. The bill was a very reasonable £16.05, but be careful - they only accept cash, no cards, and this isn't mentioned anywhere in the restaurant.I left at about 7.10pm and the restaurant was still empty, nobody else had been in, whereas the Italian over the road was much busier. The clues are there! All in all not a great experience and I won't be returning.
Joy Tandoori Bangladeshi/Indian Restaurant. Bangladeshi food We aim to ensure that everyone has a great experience!
Got a takeaway it was ok but I wonât ever use them again as my Paratha was riddled with thin, clear plastic fibres. Totally inedible and disgusting.
