local restaurant, recently refurbished with great staff, I am not involved with the business in any way. Except for loving their fantastic cuisine, cheersScott
We enjoyed our dinner at Shanaz on a Sunday evening; the menu has some interesting dishes we haven't encountered before (Dillkoosh was fantastic, a new favourite). The breads were good (garlic naan a highlight), service was efficient and pleasant. They lose a star due to the cost of the drinks; £6.50 for a 660ml bottle of Cobra is quite high, but £5.50 for a glass of plain lassi is outrageous. And the fact that the later wasn't on the menu made the unexpected cost even more annoying since the food's price is very reasonable.

Spice Merchant serves timeless Indian cuisine to dine in or takeaway. We procure the finest and freshest ingredients as it is the only way to ensure the food we serve is the best we can produce. In addition to dining in and takeaways, we offer a full outd
Having eaten here many times and being disappointed last twice I wanted to give it another chance. I went in and ordered two takeaway dishes one being Prawn Sag and one chicken tikka masala. I knew when I got home and opened the masala that something was wrong with a pungent burnt smell. I poured the dish out over the pilau rice I could immediately see all the burnt pieces of chicken. How could a chef burn the chicken and then decide to still serve it ? It was clear to see but even more obvious with the smell. With a heavy heart I wonât ever be back and I know from my friends they feel the same. I know the business was up for sale and donât know if it still is but this is a place to avoid. We served over 60 portions of Chicken Tikka Massala over the weekend and did not receive a single complaint other than yours. In fact we received many calls of praise from our diners. Surely, if your meal was not up to scratch you would have called us straight away. Having reviewed your reviews of local restaurants, I noticed that you wrote an almost identical review for Shanaz last year. As such, please provide proof of purchase and we can take it from there.

We decided on a Curry after a hard day helping to organise the food and hall for our son's wedding. It was a shame we were the only ones in there. The service was good though!!! It seems since they lost their alcahol licence they have more take always. My Husband said the non alcaholic beer is quite acceptable. All our dishes were very tasty as always. The only thing it lacks these days, is atmosphere.
