We booked the table and was glad we did. Hough small, it was definitely "perfectly formed" and throughout our unhurried meal, the service was atentive without being overbearing. We ate local dishes, and found them tasty and well presented. We look forward to returning.

Café Schiebel is located on first floor of a rather big building at the market's center (opposite the post office) and serves delicacies the way they're traditionally being done in Vienna and Bohemia. An outstanding pastry is "Bienenstich" (literally bee-sting), a tray-baked cake, filled with a mix of whipped cream and vanilla sauce and topped with caramelised almonds - one of the best "Bienenstich" I've ever had! They've also got a vast variety of real good coffee - also "Spezial-Kaffee" (the ones that you'll also get in Vienna) where the taste is being refined with different kinds of liqueur. The interior decoration is in a genuine Viennese style devided into smoker's and non smoker's sections, in summer time you can enjoy the view down to the market place from a grand terrace.

I was truly shocked by the poor customer service here, possibly the worst in the area. It took ages to get someone to take an order, even longer for the food to come and the waiting staff refused to answer any questions. They seemed to want to go out of their way to be difficult. Problem is they have a captive market. And don't bother coming if you don't eat meat; everything on the menu has meat in it. No fish or veggie.

We stopped there at the end of a popular trail. The food was Ok but the service was simply bad. For example- when a bee fell into my beer- the waitress said "not my problem". Sums it up..Dear Costumer,This year there are a great amount on bees in our region. It is very diffcult to protect every guest's drinks off the bees, but we give our best that you have an enjoyable stay at our restaurant. I am really sorry if the waitress had a bad behavior against you. Normally we counter our guests the most friendly way. If you would like to read some other coments, you will see that the day of your visit was an unhappy exeption.Greats,Restaurant Klammfürst

Very nice dinner, Great menu and many menu options. Very big portions and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The dinning room is very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of seating inside and out. Prices are priced just right for location and serving size. Something for everyone.

We went for an early dinner and were welcomed in a very friendly manner. We ordered the ribs which came as very substantial portions. The waiters were pleasant and accommodating towards us. We felt it was great value for money and the place has a great atmosphere for a bar/restaurant. We will definitely be back!

In a rustic atmosphere offers fine regional and Mediterranean cuisine is celebrated at its best - and just this apparent contradiction makes the Oberforsthof Alm in the Alpine village so popular.
We have been coming here for many years. It had a great ambience and good traditional Austrian cuisine. Our most recent visit was very disappointing. The menu had been changed to trendier items that were typical of any'trendy' eating place elsewhere in Europe. Sorry Oberforsthof, but you have lost your identity and will lose customers who come to Austria for something unique to the culture. The ambience and service was still there as before but the food was no better than average. You have lost your heritage. We do not plan to return.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We sat in the bar area to the right of the entrance. I had pork Schnitzel with a side salad and my husband ate a Beef stew which was listed as roast beef. Both meals were excellent, reasonable prices.

My partner and I went for dinner having had a beer earlier in the day and seeing that they had game on the menu. The menu was given to us in English and we each chose a venison dish being very clear that we wanted the steak as the dish underneath was rolled in hazelnuts and my partner is anaphylactic. They said they only had one steak so I chose something different. When they came out they had given my partner the dish rolled in hazelnuts, I called the waiter over and tried to explain that it was wrong and that my partner is allergic to nuts and I just got a shrug! In the end we swapped meals as it didnât look like they were going to do anything about it. The food was okay, small portions with no vegetables and still got charged full price even though it was a more expensive dish which we hadnât asked for! Funnily enough we wonât be going back!
