It has been such a pleasure to stay at the Kölblwirt for an incredible weekend. Experience traditional austrian culture, the clarity of the most tremendous sky at night and the relentlessness of the river Johnsbach in a rafting boat. Get lost in one of the particular caves, free your mind in the wilderness and return to the finest food in the northern hemisphere - no pun intended. Whether you are 18 and ready to give your all to mountainbiking or 81 and all about watching the sun on the hills... Kölblwirt should be your choice.

Visited this establishment with my family-2nd visit for meAlthough brother who lives locally is a regular visitor with his familyFood excellent quality. Three of us had onion soup for starters which was extremely filling!Could have easily not rated main course which we had schnitzel Plus chips & side salad-perfect!

Pretty small place, inside smoking is a big -1 (even though they have a kind of separated area) but the food was good and the atmosphere welcoming.Owners didn't speak English, but very friendly and tried their best to make it work.
There were two reviews before we selected this restaurant. Both were quite critical. At our visit, there were only two tables occupied, so we can not comment on the speed of service. In our case it was quick and friendly and the quality of food was good. One should know that they also serve Pizza besides standard Austrian dishes. And the kitchen is open all day. From my point of view a good choice if you want to stop for a simple meal.
Hier fühlt man sich als Gast.Der Wirt ist freundlich .Die Zimmer sind dürftig eingerichtet aber OK.Hat sogar eine kleine Sauna die wird auf Wunsch eingeheizt.

We were taken here by our Austrian friends, it's something special they like to do in winter. Be prepared for some serious exercise, you have to walk up snow covered road for about 5 kilometres climbing just over 500 metres elevation. You'll be cherry red at the top, but that first beer will taste the best in the world. Enjoy a great Austrian meal, lots of choices and then purchase your toboggan ticket get your tobboggan and begin the ride back down the hill to your car.I presume the would be open all year round and I believe you can stay with them their email is [email protected] you specially lucky like we were and visit on New Year's Eve you'll be able to stand outside amongst the fireworks and watch the burst overhead.
Excelent authentic cousine. Very nice service and a beautiful location. It should be nice also summertime with its outdoor section.

We stopped here twice, first on the way down and then on the way back the next day. The first visit I was really only looking for a coffe and snack, so I had the Apfelstrudel, Yum !, our Austianfriends had their favourite Topfenstrudel. The next day we finished here after a long walk, cold and hunger I was ready for something more comforting, hello Fleischstrudel. A beef strudel in a beef broth, amazing, I could have eaten more than one but I remained polite. If you find yourself out this way stop in and help yourself to some wonderful home cooking.
