Had a very pleasant dinner. The meal was typical Austrian style, large helping of reasonable quality food. The service was very good with a very pleasant family atmosphere. The locals, use this restaurant so it is definitely filling a need.Whilst we enjoyed the evening, with reason food but were taken back when it came to paying. Credit Cards are not accepted . Only Cash, which caused a little difficulty so warned.

I went there with my family and we were very pleased with our choice. The staff was very kind and service minded even if they had a bit of a struggle with speaking english. They still did their very best! I would recommend everyone who wants to eat a classic home made Austrian meal to go here.

The "Weitmoser Schloessl" is a little castle, which has been turned into a cafe. It is a 15-20-minute walk from the center of Bad Hofgastein. The path is flat, only ascending at the end leading up to the castle.

Agriturismo/farmerhouse in Austrian style. Very small but very picturesque place. All is cooked in front of the client on the fire place. Foods are bio and the beer produced in the farm. I suggest this place for a very different and nice dinner mostly in the warm months: when you can eat under the stars in the open air! Medium/low price.

Very good home made Austrian food, little expensive but is worth of it! The place is very nice situated, with a very nice view of Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein. In the winter and summer perfect! And good for children's to, having a little play ground.

Gastein Alm - die Alm im Tal auf 858 m in Bad Hofgastein - direkt am Schlossalmparkplatz.
We stopped by here as a family (6 years old & 2 years old) for lunch. We just had pizzas & drinks, but the pizzas were excellent, the service friendly & quick & the prices reasonable. The place is nicely decorated & I am sure would be a pleasant venue to enjoy some drinks after a day on the slopes - it is only a few minutes from the bottom of the new gondola lift in Bad Hofgastein

We had our best 2 meals at this restaurant when visiting Bad Hofgastein. The menu consist of classic Austrian food, like Wienerschnitzel and Knödel, all served with a feeling of real homecocked meal. The best courses where made of venison, obvisouly hunted by the familiy itself (?). Special kids menu and great attitud to kids. The service was kind and swift at both our visits. The price level is in line with the quality. Would visit again if in Bad Hofgastein.

As planned during December stay in Bad Hofgastein, this time we decided to try out DAS FRANZ Restaurant in Salzburgerhof. The place is indeed a great culinary experience and worth recommendation. And, what is sometimes more important than taste, they understand the approach to a guest as most important âingredientâ, offerin high service standard. During our our 5-day stay in Bad Hofgastein we went there 3 times and every time got satisfied! Coming to Bad Hofgastein once or twice a year we will definitely become regulars here!

Well presented and carefully executed food from a short but balanced menu. The smoked salmon starter was imaginative with a mixture of slices and tartare. My wife then had venison which looked and was superb whilst my goose breast was faultless.Austrian house wine "by the glass" was served from the bottle (a nice touch). To finish we shared a nut parfait ice cream concoction which was surprising as it was not too sweet followed by a complimentary schnaps. Service matched the quality of the foodA definite for a return visit.
