Lovely old café redolent of yesteryear. There are tables on the footpath and old fashioned booths inside. Worth a visit just to experience it.The proprietor was by himself and flat out but managed to produce a good breakfast remarkably quickly. The coffee was also good.I suppose it is basically a fish and chip shop but they can provide many more options than that.

Poets Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson are reputed to have drunk at the bar of this hotel, previously known as the Commercial Hotel.
We stopped here for a late lunch on Saturday.Bowning is a lovely old town just 17 minutes from Yass. The pub is quintessential Australia. The dining room is out the back and as we were quite late only one other couple were still there. As we were deciding on our meal they were raving about their pizza. The chef makes his own sour dough and serves the pizza on a wooden slab (we actually got one to take away for dinner because they looked so good). We had the lamb shanks and the french style chicken snitzel. They were both stunning, so full of flavour, fresh and extremely filling. The chef has been there since January and he and the staff are welcoming, friendly and will do what ever they can to accommodate your foody desires. This place is a must if you are in the area.Lunch is from 12-2.30, they also do dinner but check their website for details. We will definitely be back. My french style chicken snitzel was amazing and the secret sauce was brilliant

We called into the Club for lunch on our drive south from Sydney. We both had the Roast of the Day- Pork. It was a very generous serving, the Pork well cooked with potato, carrots, pumpkin and broccoli. For a Club meal we were satisfied.

We visited Cafe Dolcetto on our road trip whilst traveling through Yass to Gundaroo. The cafe was very busy which was a good sign. We ordered two prawn noodle salads which were tasty and light. The only disappointment was the menu was limited with only a few healthy options. We enjoyed our dishes and found the cafe cosy but in need of some loving regarding the decor .

We enjoyed two visits to Yazzbar. Early in the evening a great chat to the locals (on both sides of the bar). Later to enjoy the live music - just visit, youâll have a great night!

Not much to look at from the outside but once in itâs got a small bar area and a nice fire in the dining room to keep it cosy. A good looking menu with what appeared to be a strength in meat. Grills served with 2 sides and a sauce. I chose pork and 2 veg sides, colleague steak. Both dishes were very good, the pork a juicy thick piece and the veg very nice. For $30 I thought it was excellent value. Shared a bottle of red which again seemed good value at $38. I like that they focus on local wines.

Clementine is a warm and vibrant regional restaurant in the heart of Yass. Set in a 1950's weatherboard cottage with views across the lawn to the striking Lovett Chapel, it is the perfect place for a long lunch on the deck or intimate dinner by the firepl
We would not have found this delightful restaurant if it was not recommended to us by Jacqui at the Colonial Motor Inn. We were so pleased with her recommendation as we settled into the warm, charming restaurant with its comfortable seating and efficient staff, for dinner on a cold July night. Dinner was delicious and we would highly recommend Clementine to everyone passing through Yass and to those who choose not to, you don't know what you're missingTop marks Clementineâ¤.Thank you for your beautiful review. We hope to welcome you again soon!Kind regards,The Clementine family
