Leonards Mill is a regional restaurant in a 161 year old restored four mill. Our ethos is Eat Local and showcases the best that the Fleurieu Peninsula has to offer. We are paddock to plate, nose to tail, root to leaf. At Leonards Mill our menu changes as
The atmosphere and service were friendly and inviting, as were the surroundings. Unfortunately, the locally sourced beef in the tasting menu was tough and difficult to cut. Not sure whether this was due to the cooking process or the cut of meat selected, but this put a downer on the meal, which we had expected would be of the highest standard. All other dishes tasted were fabulous!!

Driving around Normanville, we stumbled on Caffe On Bungala, luckily for us. The decor had a wonderfully retro feel, with laminex topped tables and accompanying restored chairs.I went for the grilled garfish with salad, and it was excellent. Lovely tasting fish beautifully cooked. For my wife, they put together a lovely salad which she raved about.Great staff. Well worth a visit.

We had lunch at the hotel restaurant, inside on a chilly day. The welcome was warm, service excellent and we all enjoyed our food - three plates of fish of different kinds, differently prepared, and one of kangaroo which was beautifully tender and accompanied by freshly cooked vegetables that had not been sitting in a warmer somewhere.

Called in for coffee and a slice of their lemon tart, which we had enjoyed on previous occasions. Would have stayed for lunch if it had been a little later as the food on offer looks really good. Very friendly staff and the fact that the cafe was busy speaks a lot for its popularity.

Extremely slow service, even waiting to get acknowledged almost caused us to walk away. Maybe unexpectedly short staffed was the reason.Food average to good, relatively expensive compared with local opposition. My third visit in about 3 years, wonât be tempted again.Very unreliable opening hours, the business is advertised for sale, and is clearly a burden to the current owners.

Junk Street has gone mobile! We will be at the Yankalilla Skate Park from Monday-Friday 6am-10am. Check our social media to see where we are popping up next or to book your next function!
So I planned a visit to 21 Junk Street today. Had done some research and found their Facebook page. It looked quite appealing and I checked their opening hours - open until 5pm. After making a 50km journey (yes I am happy to drive that distance for a coffee), I was greeted with a handwritten sign on the door informing their customers they'd closed early to attend the local football match - it was approximately 1.30pm. I checked their page again and it was still showing as "open". If they'd only updated this information, it would have saved me a wasted 100km round trip.Seems they aren't that interested in their customer's experience, as I did write a brief and polite message on their site suggesting they update the information to avoid inconvenience to other customers but I see they simply deleted it without any response or feedback. So I'd advise any potential customers (one of which I will never be again) to confirm their opening times before you travel, so as to avoid a wasted journey to 21 Junk Street like I did. Hi Mark, I am so sorry you experienced this while making the trip to our shop. We had had a busy morning and when it fell quiet we did take the sneaky oportunity to pop to our local footy which we are big supporters of. You are right in expecting notice of this on our Facebook or Instagram and we apologise for the inconvience. As for the message left, I did not come across it so not sure what happened there. We are generally open when we say we are unless there is notice put on our Facebook or Instagram and this was a slip in judgment by myself. I would absolutely like to make it worth your while to visit again by offering you a free meal and drink for you and a friend. Please contact me via our Facebook page if you do change your mind and would like to give us a go. Thank you for the feedback, we take it all on board and always learn from constructive criticism.

Set on the hill behind Carrickalinga township Forktree Brewing is housed in a reinvigorated, historic shearing shed. Many of the build materials were recycled from the existing structure giving it an authentic Australian feel. Forktree offers visitors cra
While staying in the area for a week we dined at Forktree twice, one for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch on Sunday was great and the restaurant was full. Three of us had burgers and sliders - all generous and tasty and I had fish and chips which was also generous and delicious. Thursday night is curry night and we had a butter chicken and rogan josh and by gosh both curries were fabulous! Best curries we have had in a while. Again, generous serves, meat was tender and juicy and flavour profiles were spot on. The restaurant was again very busy especially for a weeknight. The Forktree beers on tap were excellent but wine is available as well. Service was very friendly and efficient. Sat inside by the fireplace as the weather was chilly but the outside deck would be fabulous in summer. These guys are onto a winning combination in terms of ideas and execution. Great food and beers in an old wool shed setting. Thanks so much for coming and paying us a visit (twice :)). We're stoked you enjoyed what we offer.CheersBen

Ordered a couple of drinks at brunch after a relaxing walk on the beach which we enjoyed on the lawn out front. The service here was quick and friendly, lovely food and a good selection, all reasonable priced. Lovely setting and great atmosphere. A recommended visit while in Normanville.

Stopped for a family meal while staying at Carrickalinga. Extremely impressed by the courteous and efficient table service which is such a lost art in most Australian pub bistros these days. The menu is extensive - much more so than the Normanville Pub down the road - and excellent value. Adapted the kids menu for our vego daughter without any fuss. Meals were generous and delicious - the âpasta nightâ special seafood linguini would have cost $25-$35 in the big smoke and at $13 it was an absolute steal. Loved it - weâll be back!
