Historic country hotel. Named after a local roustabout, Sam Knott, who became the face of advertising for Carlton & United breweries with the poster seen in nearly every Aussie pub with the catch phrase - "I allus has wan at eleven" Lots of history in the
The food was good, and the staff friendly until 8 pm. While we were still eating chairs were lifted onto tables ready for the end of day cleaning...a very obvious push for us to hurry up and leave. It was 8.10pm! I can understand closing the kitchen at 8pm for main meals, but am unsure how patrons are expected to order a meal, be served a meal and enjoy it in an hour! We didn't even get to have dessert or coffee.
picked up fish & chips on NYE 2018/2019 as this was the only fish & chip place that was open within a 10km range of where we were staying. Staffed by very friendly people this is an old school fish & chippery - offering all the traditional items - and strangely crinkle cut chips with straight cut being more expensive & only available until sold out. Not sure why the difference? Anyway, it was all tasty, we got 2 kids packs & a seafood pack. Everything was accounted for (I have missing items in my fish & chips) but sadly no bonus potato cake or dim sim (conversely, I love bonus items in my fish & chips). Overall a good, decent, tasty option! Thanks Robert! The reason for the crinkle cut...our customers prefer them. We fast tested in the shop for a few weeks and hands down crinkle cut won but we keep straight cut for the traditionalists.

As locals we have always had wonderful service. We invited friends from Melbourne for lunch and were left utterly embarrassed by todayâs rude and inhospitable service.Upon ordering our friends were told there was an hour and a half wait for their meal. When they queried the time frame the staff became quite inhospitable and made an scene in front of other patrons. The cook and another staff member then made a point of bringing out their meals slamming the meals on the table stating âthat it was due to their rudeness that they got their meal quicklyâ and also âthat they were lucky to not have it tipped in their facesâ Needless to say we were horrified. The staff involved were then overheard complaining to other patrons about our table. As locals who had recommended Cunninghams we were utterly horrified and embarrassed. So much for Yarra Valley hospitality. We will think twice about coming back and certainly will be sharing this experience with others.

Don't be fooled but this cafes sublte exterior, inside is refreshingly unpretentious. As a bike buff, I really enjoyed the cycling themed decor but most importantly, our coffees were hot, promptly served and perfect - just what we were after on a cold Winter's day! When we make it back to Warburton, we don't hesitate to revisit BT Dubs Cafe.

We ate here as there wasnt really much else open. Service was friendly and we found plenty to choose from on their menu. Meals didnt take very long and they were very nice and good sized servings for the price, which we thought was dearer than the average pub. We left there feeling wed had good value.

We came in for dinner and found this to be the best in Warburton by a mile. Great bar and restaurant with fine dining. Weâve had breakfast, dinner and late night snacks and now love it. The menu changes and everything has been exciting to try. From what Iâve seen, everything is made on premise, right down to chutneys and is beautifully presented. This is now my go to place for meals. I donât have enough good things to say.

We are situated in the township of Warburton in the Upper Yarra Valley and enjoy a unique position on the edge of the Yarra river. Our facilities include a rear balcony and deck where you will see the foothills of Mt Donna Buang and listen to the river me
Came here for some lunch on a Sunday and ordered the beef, chicken and veggie burger. The beef was not cooked and the promise of a spicy veggie burger did not happen, in fact it came with ingredients not listed on the menu. Wonât be coming here again.

Finished up here after a hike this weekend and was greeted with friendly, helpful staff (with a good sense of humour) as soon as I walked in. I had the chickpea and pumpkin burger with beetroot chips all of which were really tasty. They were kind enough to turn the burger into a sandwich with gluten free bread AND they also switched out the tatziki so it was vegan friendly too! Coffee was well made and there were dairy-free alternatives too. The place was clean, light and airy, and had a feel of being a place that the staff really care about.Thank you for being so accommodating, making great food & coffee, and for being so welcoming.

Went along to Little Joes to see how theyâre brekky stacks up against other cafes in the area and was âbitterlyâ disappointed. The coffee beans were burnt / sour and was truely a horrible experience. The breakfast (eggs & bacon) was very small portion and the bread was not fresh!!$50 later and we left very disappointed. Wonât be back....

Come and join us at Oscar's and experience our seasonal menu. Our menu draws on the exceptional quality of Yarra Valley's produce, blended into an International menu to suit all palates. Overlooking the picturesque Yarra River on balmy evenings, casually
It's those extra details that can make a meal feel memorable or disappointing: Consistency, attention to detail, customer service and follow up, timing, etc., etc., etc.Our lunch could have been spectacular, but it was the smallest of things that affected that. It was a perfect Autumnal day, so we chose to sit outside on the balcony. We walked past dining tables set up with pristine white linen table cloths and elegant chairs, through double doors to an area that befitted a Cafe: stark laminated table tops and metal chairs! My chair was warped and for the entire time I rocked back and forth in a diagonal movement. The waitress was pleasant and not too forward (good) and the menus were brought out. We started with drinks from a not too extensive list of champagnes and wines, and whilst we were waiting for the drinks, chose our meals. Entrees were Haloumi chips and dips for two.The haloumi wasn't overly hot and with six pieces (see photo), by the time we got to the last two, they were room temperature. Nevertheless they were tasty. The dips and oil/balsamic vinegar was nice, although the balsamic vinegar had settled on the bottom and we couldn't even get the bread to soak it up, so it was wasted. For mains we ordered the Kangaroo and Snapper. The menu recommended that the kangaroo be served medium rare. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked (I would normally eat my meat rare to blue) so I left it in then hands of the chef. We also ordered asides of roasted chats and green beans with almond slivers. The Kangaroo was medium at best, leaning towards well done. There were only six pieces on my plate, with vegetables taking up 2/3rds of the plate (see photo). The meat was tough and two of the six pieces couldn't be eaten. The vegetables were lovely, but the here of the meal was meant to be the kangaroo! The snapper on the other hand was well cooked and seasoned. We ordered coffees and shared a dessert (ice cream). The ice cream was lovely (dark chocolate, salted caramel and vanilla bean - three scoops). The long black coffee looked like it had come from a drip filter machine. No crema. When we paid, there was no "How was your meal?" or "Was everything to your satisfaction?" so there was no feedback.Given the meal overall (with two champagnes and two Shirazes) was over $200,it was disappointing that those little things - the consistency of decor, the asking about the liking of the meat, the temperature of the haloumi, being able to access the balsamic and the coffee, and more importantly, asking for feedback, dragged down the overall experience.
