My family and I have been here several times and while the food is only average tasting, the prices are reasonable and the portion side are generous. The beer is cold and the staff friendly and efficient. There is one "Special" each night at under $10 that represents exceptionally good value. Depending on what night it is you, have a choice of a chicken schnitzel, steak, fish and a couple of other dishes. The Royal Hotel Taree is a typical country pub and caters for everyday, working class people. In short this is its target market.
This morning I was looking for breakfast and a coffee whilst waiting for my car to be serviced. Inside Manning Mall I found Peoples, I ordered a coffee and the big breakfast (all good ) then the cashier advised that their most expensive breakfast $16.95 doesn't come with eggs!! They are extra. I ordered two poached eggs and was told the bill would be $21 oh no oops that will be $23. I was hoping that they would get the order right. My coffee came quickly followed by the breakfast. The service was quick and the food and coffee were average but nothing to write home about.

Went to this Club after seeing it advertised and decided on the lunch $10 special ($11 for non members). We saw some lovely meals coming from the kitchen and my husband chose roast lamb and I chose Mediterranean Pasta. Imagine our disappointment when my husband's roast turned up and it looked like the last bits of the roast were just "hurled" on his plate. One small pumpkin, one small potato and that's about all. When he commented to the waitress, he was told, that all the meals were like that! He asked for at least another couple of decent slices, which he was duly given, then he received a replacement meal, which was so much better. My pasta meal, lacked taste and visual appeal, it tasted as though the pasta had been overcooked and was falling apart and the sauce was like a watered down tomato sauce. Not happy at all! When we left the roasts that were leaving the kitchen were so much better, so the kitchen must have lifted its game after our complaint. Lunch specials should not be lower quality, for a lower price!

We have visited twice so far while staying in the Taree area. First time was for coffee where the proprietress was really friendly and chatty. The 2nd visit was for lunch where we had delicious hamburgers. The staff were friendly and the cafe filled up quickly. The wait was quite a while even though we were the only customers when ordering but it was worth it.Thank-you for popping in again & we are glad you enjoyed your burgers & coffee. We appreciate the feedback & look forward to seeing you again.Centrepoint Cafe Team

We really like this place. the atmosphere is great and the views overlooking the golf course spectacular. Unfortunately the food does bring it down. The food is expensive and you don't get a lot for your money. I had a small pizza from the snack menu at the bar and found it boring. The coffee is better but not by much. You also have to go back and pick up your own food and coffee.

I've eaten here several times and the service is always great, prices reasonable and meals a good size. Biggest disappointment is the quality of meals has g gone down. What used to be the best oyster mornay in town would now have to be the worst. Oysters were tiny, virtually no sauce and for over $30 a dozen I'll not be going back. I've heard the restaurant has changed hands. Certainly not for the better.

Passing through for breakfast on a road trip. Service was good. Coffee was quite good, however, meals were very average and therefore quite overpriced for the quality that was served.
