Regatta Point Tavern is situated on the Esplanade in Strahan, just 50m to the waterfront at the historic old wharf site, now the departure point for the scenic wilderness railway. Our two bedroom self contained units sleep up to 6 persons, ideal for famil
We stopped at Regatta Point Tavern earlier this week for dinner. The menu is quite big with plenty to choose from. Prices are reasonable considering location of Strahan. We enjoyed the meals of Lamb Loin Cutlets and an entree of Scallops on rice and couldn't miss the opportunity of having the Brandy Snaps for dessert! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Rebuilt in 1936, Hamer's captures the old-world charm of this mining port turned fishing village, where the walls almost speak to you of bygone eras. Settle back by the open log fire with the locals for a local ale or select from a range of Tasmanian wine
This weekend we visited Hamers Restaurant. We decided to go to the Restaurant side and not the Bar to have a nicer experience. We arrived early and we were told to sit anywhere that had 2 seats. So we did. A young girl came over, gave us a menu and told us that if we wanted drinks then we needed to help ourselves at the bar. So we did. This also meant paying for everything separately and not on the one bill. After we ordered we asked if we could change tables as there was no fire lit and the wind from the door was freezing us every time it opened. They were not happy, but allowed us to change tables. My mums steak came out barely medium and she ordered medium to well. At $40 it was not a great meal. I chose the gummyshark, which I had asked for with just a salad. It came out with Coleslaw and when I asked for my salad it took 3 conversations with 3 different people to get it. Very dissapointing service and food. Not what you paid for. The next night we ordered a takeaway pizza to take back to our room. For $25 we expected an amazing pizza, but no. Only cooked around the outside. The middle was soft and soggy. Would not recommend them.

Leslie and Steve from Bushman's have reinstated Frederick's Restaurant within the stately Ormiston House built back in 1899. Their vision for Frederickâs is simple - refined Tasmanian dining, locally sourced, grown and foraged ingredients, purely Tasmania

I had such high hopes for this place as the breakfast menu sounded awesome, however we had to wait awhile to be seated and then once going through the hot selection it was easy to see it'd been sitting there a long time. Everything was overcooked, soggy or tough. Only enjoyable parts were in the cold selection and I really just ate because I paid $27 each for breakfast and because I was hungry. Suggestions I'd make to them - cook smaller quantities and replenish more often, check your produce - strawberries were old and some had mould, be more attentive to patrons (we felt a bit neglected waiting for someone to come out of the kitchen to serve us. A lot of potential here but missed the mark for me.

Banjoâs was founded in Tasmania in 1984 and has operated successfully since, growing to 40 stores across Australia. The idea, unique at that time, was to provide a place which offered customers the opportunity to sit down and enjoy freshly baked breads an
We went about 3pm in the afternoon and it was OBVIOUS the heated items ie pies, sausage rolls, quiches etc has been sitting in the warmer ALL DAY! My son got the 2 x mini quiches and they were dry dry dry! They really should NOT have been served. I would recommend storing half the stock in the fridge and putting them out around lunch time rather than from when they are made in the early hours of the morning. Staff were ordinary too. Hi there, Thank you for providing us with feedback, we are disappointed to hear you received dry food! Would you be able to send your details to [email protected]? The store manager will contact you directly about this issue. Kind regards, Team Banjo's
