We celebrated Motherâs day here with a 3 course meal for $60ea.We were bitterly disappointed with the meal. It felt like it was all precooked and left to dry out under warming lights. The entree was either French Onion Gruel or soggy tomatoes with some sort of crumbled biscuit.Main course was overlooked boot-leather lamb with shrivelled veg or a small dry chicken leg.Desert was three small cream filled pastry balls or a very tart lemon tart. The wine was extortion. $60 a bottle from the cellar door... are you serious??? I would only go here for the high tea, which can afford to be pre prepared food.

Coal River Farm is a modern, casual restaurant featuring our own and locally grown produce. Dine while watching our cheese and chocolate makers create their artisan products onsite. All our food is made from scratch onsite and throughout the day customers
called in on our way through to hobart recently.Ordered 2 hot chocolates had to be the best hot chocolates ever service was friendly nice and quick water provided even though near closing time.Menu look nice platter being enjoyed by another table did look nice but we had already eaten.Chocolate and cheeses are readily available at our local market so need to do any tastings.

Relaxed casual dining can be enjoyed in the light contemporary restaurant space or out on the terrace - both with stunning water views out over the vines to the Coal River Valley. Wine tastings and sales from 10am to 5pm. Open seven days a week.
Ventured out over Easter. We have been before and everything was top notch then. Lovely crisp fruity riesling but had issues with the cheeseboard. The 'cheeseboard' was arranged on a dinner plate, the cheeses were delicious and the portions could have been more generous. There was not enough bread/crackers. There was strangely a small pot of honey which I have never seen before. Overall rather disappointing for a venue that has excelled in our experience.

Frogmore Creek has the worst restaurant customer service I have ever experienced, and that is saying something considering we did not even get the restaurant! The restaurant had been personally recommended by a close friend, so we booked our table early and the family were looking forward to the experience. Without any warning, about two weeks before the booking, we get an email generated from the booking engine advising the restaurant had cancelled our booking.Frogmore Creek did not have the common courtesy to even put a quick note on the cancellation. No explanation, no apology.End result, very disappointed family who now will tell everyone whom we hear is going to Tassie to avoid Frogmore Creek.Your team's customer service needs a huge kick in the butt. Not good enough.

Came here for Christmas lunch at $90 per head. The venue lacked atmosphere and was more appropriate for a cheap wedding (folded fan paper napkins anyone?).The wait staff were unaware of what they were serving. I asked and received the reply of "I'm not sure, it looks like pumpkin soup". The buffet was traditional and a little tasteless. It appeared they were worried of running out of items as servings were stingy. The bar staff had no knowledge of the wine and charged different prices for the same items. They did make an effort with a few Christmas decorations but for price we paid we should have gone to Wrest Point casino.Never again.
Leaving Richmond early to catch a flight home so called in for breakfast as it was the only place open. Spotlessly clean inside, great breakfast and nice coffee as well. Friendly service with the bonus of being able to buy supplies and local produce and groceries.
Called in for a fish and chip lunch on a Sunday for Fatherâs Day. It was really busy and all the tables were booked inside, but while it was a little cool, it was fantastic outside.Great chips - fish portions were a little small, but really fresh. Great experience

The food is great but the decor could be improved by just changing the lighting. Cool energy efficient bulbs do not work well for dining. They need warm soft light. I would suggest a higher level of illumination as the space is good and there are interesting stories on the walls to view. BUT the food is good and the price good too.

Booked a table here for brunch on a Saturday morning. Staff were friendly and helpful when booking and equally friendly on arrival. Location is a lovely old building right on the corner. Sun was shining through the windows making the room warm and cosy on this fairly chilly yet lovely morning. Menu is good and staff were happy to offer breakfast even though we were a little late for it. I had the meatloaf with was obviously homemade, plentiful and very tasty...the chicken and mushroom pie was pretty good too. Only downside was no licence....but sparkling water was good. Would recommend.

My wife and I visited this cheese factory whilst travelling through Richmond in September. It was very inviting, with lots of cheeses available for tasting. Not being a cheese person, I certainly enjoyed the cheeses here and we purchased a few cheeses to take away with us. There is a great selection of sauces, mustards and relishes as well.
