Montalto Restaurant is the highlight of any visit to Montalto estate. Weâve been awarded 15 Good Food Chefâs Hats since opening in 2002, and offer a warm and relaxing dining experience with seasonal local and estate-grown produce, cooked on our wood fire
Okay, in the interest of full disclosure -- our friends own this place. So we were greeted and got a bit of the VIP treatment. But BOY, I would come here all the time even if I didn't know the family. We ate in the Piazza, the food was fantastic -- including the best pizzas we had in Australia. The wines are truly world class, especially the delicious pinots. And the grounds are just stunning, with all the sculptures and the water feature. Highly rated, wish we could've tried the chef's tasting menu in the main restaurant. You reading this... GO, now!

Having enjoyed dining experiences at Hentley Farm in the Barossa Valley and Brown Brothers Epicurean Centre in King Valley we were looking forward to our lunch at Silverwater at Crittenden. This restaurant has to be kidding itself with a two course price of $65 and $80 for three courses which in our case was "Pan roasted, truffle scented gnocchi, tuscan cabbage, basil & goats curd" for my wife followed by desert which was "Honey and hazelnut pudding, praline & chocolate ice cream, honeycomb". This cost $65 and I extended my choice to $80 by including a side which was "Caprese salad of heirloom tomatoes, torn buffalo mozerrella & white balsamic" We dined with two friends who had actually chosen this restaurant and we were all still hungry after the meal.Sorry, but this is not an experience I will look back on with any WOW factor, most underwelming.

I used to love this restaurant. Sadly, I shall not be returning. Last night 23 March, we went for a romantic dinner. We were not told there was a wedding on in the main restaurant, and so we were seated in the cellar door section. Then the food...the entree was fine. But the main (duo of lamb) was simply revolting. The lamb cutlet was over cooked, the green beans were undercooked and cold (as was the 2-day leftover potato), and Iâm still trying to work out what the hell that square deep-fried blob of âpulled lambâ was. Yuck!! Needless to say we didnât stay for dessert. The waiter (who was excellent) asked if weâd like to leave a tip. Hereâs a tip....employ a decent chef and set some dress standards. I donât know about other people, but when I go out to a restaurant, I donât wear thongs and a âflannyâ shirt, nor do I wear a baseball cap at the table or bring my child to dinner wearing pjâs.

Visited Max's for lunch after quite some break. Loved it. Food was excellent, wine delish and service was relaxed, friendly and professional. We had oysters, scallops, crayfish, venison and braised daikon washed down with a wonderful Red Hill Estate Merricks Grove chardonnay. The cherry balsamic was also truly amazing. And the view is the best on the Peninsula.Highly recommend.

The two of us had lunch at this restaurant. Perfect location with beautiful views and great interior design, this place look promising. The service was quick and we had the perfect setting for a great lunch but unfortunately that wasnât the case. We had 2 bite size dishes that are literally one bite, in our case crocket and polenta chips. They were ok. Then we had the calamari bigger size but still small. That dish was average. For main we had the steak and crab linguini. Both typical starter size and not great. The linguini was oily and the steak well over cooked. For desert we had the brownie that we had to cancel 15 min after we finished the coffee. All in all it felt like a disappointing miss.

Polperro is nestled among the vines and shaded by ancient Angophora trees on a stunning 25 acre property in the heart of the famous wine region Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula. Our aim is to create a synergy between the vineyard and kitchen, and incorporat
My husband took me to Polperro Restaurant for lunch on my birthday... we were overwhelmed by the winery grounds, loved seeing the veggie garden at the front of the Restaurant building, brilliant idea of using local produce, canât be as fresh as picking produce from the winery veggie garden. We decided on the tour menu, small selection of dishes. $90 per person food only and with matching wines, $150 per person. We thoroughly enjoyed the food there. The outlook from the restaurant wasnât bad either. I believe that if you book prior to 12:30pm seating, you have a 2 hour seating. After that, you can stay longer than 2 hours. If you eat outside (unless it is over the busy summer period), you have a smaller menu to choose from. Staff were friendly. We did find the restaurant got a bit noisy when it was nearly full. Apart from that, we enjoyed the food and wine at Polperro Restaurant.

Our restaurant is temporarily closed due to a fire in our old Tractor shed next door which occurred in February 2018. We hope to reopen early in the new year.
Four of us had lunch, al la carte, the service was smooth and the food good but a few wobbles... Long wait between courses and my dish of snapper was overly salty (and i often add salt!) but amuse bouchée and palate cleansers were good. Highlight was Harry's blackberries... Superb

This Is A Winery With A Fine Dining Restaurant
We were getting together with friends for Sunday lunch and they suggested Paringa Estate. On our last visit with other friends, the service had been very ordinary so we were hoping for a better result this time. Being the weekend, there were only two offerings - the 4-course "Inspiration" and the 6-course "Experience". We opted for the Inspiration with Regional Matching ie pairing with local wines at a hearty $150 a head. Splurgers could wipe out $240 a head for the Experience with International Matching but we agreed that 4 courses would be plenty.Unlike our last visit, the service this time was very good and we were quickly furnished with menus, sparkling water and cocktails. Sarah ? and Joel were friendly and attentive throughout the lunch and provided comprehensive descriptions of each course and wine pairing.Having sworn to never go near sea urchin again, I was nervous about the mousse which accompanied the Paringa version of "Surf and Turf". However, it was a wonderful first course and followed on nicely from the complimentary Vegemite scrolls and Devils on Horseback which we enjoyed with our cocktails. The Quealy Friulano was a perfect first course match so we were off to a great start. The second-course barramundi and the third-course Paringa version of coq au vin were equally excellent as were the 2011 and 2016 Paringa Pinot noir respective pairings. I wouldn't have considered a pinot with barramundi but it worked well. The dessert course was also particularly good but I think I may have offended Joel by describing the Cinq a Sept Vermouth Pinot Noir as, basically, Campari and soda and suggesting that it wasn't a good match. Anyhow, the other three disagreed with me about the pairing so what would I know ? (I stick by the Campari reference especially given that this wine is served with a soda top-up).We were too full to agree to the optional cheese course ($20 each) but one of us ordered one course knowing that we'd all have a bit of it and, sure enough, we did. It was okay but I'm glad we didn't have one each. Coffee and a glass of the excellent Paringa shiraz rounded out a wonderful lunch. As somewhere for a special occasion splurge, this place is ideal but I think we'll stick the mid-week a la carte offering for future visits. The bill came to $174 each. Having returned from a few days in Canberra last week, it was interesting to do a comparison with the equally great meal we enjoyed at the Tipsy Bull restaurant in Braddon. Five beautiful courses which we chose from an extensive array of options, great cocktails and plenty of wine, excellent service and a lively atmosphere at a cost of $140 each.Thank you so much for taking the time to make a review. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Wine is made to drink with food. If you come to try our wines you may stay for a light lunch in our cellar door of small plates to share.
Iâve been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the feed me menu. The variety of food is great and is to my liking and I feel full afterwards. I also like that bread is offered at the start of the meal which is also super fresh and tasty. The single vineyard Pinot is really nice also. I think $34 for the feed me menu is really good pricing. I have never ordered single dishes but I would agree with other people who have given their review that it would be quite expensive and non-substantial to order single dishes for $12 each. If the feed me menu continues to be available for $34, Iâll definitely be back.
