Traditional bistro style meals with flair and originality.
We often have lunch here on our way to or going home from Lakes. Entrance, or just out for a day in Bairnsdale. We can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here! The food is reasonably priced and they always have specials. Try the tasting plate for two.... absolutely delicious! The staff are always warm, helpful and welcoming. The head chefs are EB and Tegan, the apprentice chefs Jacob and Bonnie. If you are really lucky you may be served by the delightful Stacey.Thank you very much for your excellent review and comments regarding our food and staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and great food. We look forward to your next visit. Kind Regards,

Cafe
Great food but very slow service. Yes, it was Easter, but itâs only breakfast and it shouldnât take one hour! The cafe was busy when we arrived then very quiet for 30 minutes and yet we still waited for food. Will not be returning.

Welcome to The Loft. We have recently renovated this incredible historical establishment to showcase to our customers the very best our East Gippsland producers have to offer. Our chef's are passionate about what they do, offering a variety of Modern Aust
Oysters kilpatrick @ $21 for 1/2 dozen were passable. Crumbed, grilled scallops were lukewarm, very small and served on a very cold plate with a salad.. Mains were tasty but very expensive . We were seriously underwhelmed. We realise its a local having s go but thought it was very expensive.

We varrived for dinner on a Thursday night. It was great to have table service for drinks & food and the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered: medium rare steak/chips/salad (not bad), chicken noodle soup (not much flavour), crumbed chicken schnitzel/chips/pepper gravy. Far too much pepper in gravy, schnitzel dry & Mexican Chicken (very good). I am sure there are better options in town.

My guest and I both had fish, one Salmon the other grilled Ling on a bed of delicious vegetables. Both dishes were exceptional as was the service.

A hot day in Paynesville, our usual coffee place was packed out - where to go? Letâs try Almaâs (Monday morning, and yes they were open). Lovely & cool inside in aircon - and the selection of delicious looking cakes made choice difficult. But - Black Forest & Carrot cake won the day, made easier in the consumption by the pleasant & willing young staff who were happy to provide plates & knives so the very generous portions could be halved. Beautifully presented with cream & ice cream. Iced chocolate delicious and the coffee drinkers pronounced the coffee just great.Dinner & lunch menus look very interesting. Worth going back to check them out.

Probably the best located restaurant in Paynesville: water edge with views to Raymond Island and you can keep an eye on the ferry movements. The food quality for dinner was excellent, and service was attentive. Doesn't seem to be that well patronised; but should be.

Dined here on a Saturday night in a group of 6. Excellent location with good comfortable and inviting interiors. Staff very friendly and service was efficient. Excellent choice of fresh meals to choose from. Shared plates and individual meals available and very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.
