Travelling to Adelaide along the Western Highway we decided to stop in Nhill for a coffee. We spotted the Amber Sweet Bliss cafe across the road from the public toilets and information centre. The shop has a very good selection of cakes and slices that are all home made. It is a very worthwhile place to stop with friendly staff.

Nhill has been somewhat short of good food in recent times. Then Mr Lee turned up. Now all tastes are catered for. Spectacular pastries, breads of all type including sour dough and real food. Pork belly, Vietnamese chicken, Pho etc. The coffee, roasted on site, is great. No one should avoid NHill now.
We donât have a good variety of restaurants as such here in Nhill as our Tea and Coffee shops (Cafes) close about 1530 -But I had heard that the BP on the Dimboola bound roadhouse (BP) here as you come into Nhill from Melb. Is pretty good so I thought oh well letâs give it a go. Remember it is not Licenced as it is a Roadhouse but the Indian staff who manage/own it obviously do a good feed especially for the Truckies who pass by being on the main Adelaide-Melbourne Hwy. It is spotless, well presented and no cooking smells from the kitchen like you often will find with Roadhouses. Yes, it would have been nice to have that glass red or a beer but instead we chose out of the fridge a Coke & Water. I had Chicken Parma with mash & vegies & it was a plateful. The other meal that was served up to my Guest was Light curry Lamb Rogan Gosh with Pita bread & the Coke went down well believe me. If your passing through Nhill, stop off as Iâm sure you will enjoy as we did in fact we were surprised how good it was & all freshly cooked on the spot. What more do you want when travelling or before you settle in for the night at your overnight abode..

Pub closed Mon to Wed so no review, only other place for a 'semi' eat in in Nhill was the BP garage on the highway Melbourne side. Food was basically take away though you could eat in. Food was nice and priced reasonably, saved us from going hungry. Will not select Nhill as an overnight stop again.

Stayed in local motel on road trip to Melbourne from Adelaide. Nhill is roughly halfway point. This was only place in town that looked busy. Dining room was tidy but felt like in a time warp from the 60's. Staff could do with a little training. Patrons at a nearby table were left to attend to a spilt drink with no assistance and ended up handing over tablecloth to the 2 waitresses at the register.. As mentioned by others it's a strange set up. You order meals and pay at counter in the ladies lounge. Then you have to leave the lounge and order drinks from a small dark room next to front bar and then carry these drinks back to other room after navigating the dark and two latches on door whilst attempting not to spill your drinks. Need to provide waitress service for this. The staff have to go to get the eftpos machine from front bar for you to pay for meals while you wait so no reason they could not also get drinks for patrons. Unfortunately this all overshadows the actual meal which was ok. Just pub food but ok. It's what you would expect in country town. Schnitzel chips and small plate of salad. Bread or roll would be good if offered as meal was on small side but wasn't.at a little over $20 meal was not cheap. A little more attention to detail is needed to warrant the price.
