We arrived fairly late (after 2pm) due to climbing nearby mountains and enjoyed substantial lunches. Homemade pot pies including a really delicious vegetarian one. The desserts were nice, also homemade and we enjoyed them but not quite as perfect as the mains (eg my sticky date pudding was a little dry and a touch burnt). I'd suggest opting for bigger main rather than save space for dessert. Restaurant prices.

We stayed overnight at this idyllic B & B that overlooks the Porongorups in the distance. The host was friendly and welcoming in every way possible. It is such a unique building and the fact they built it entirely themselves is quite remarkable. We would have loved to enjoy a meal at the restaurant but it is closed Monday to Wednesday. The self serve breakfast was outstanding - 3 home made breads, home made jams and jellies, freshly stewed fruit, yogurt and we were even offered "real" coffee. We will definitely return.

Found it strange that you ordered your meal but couldn't pay for it until you were leaving. They never asked for your name or gave you a number. I wonder if some people would leave without paying. I along with a few others who ordered bacon with scrambled eggs felt we had got an omelette as scrambled eggs tasted & looked quite dry.

Whatâs the difference between a good meal and a fantastic culinary experience? The best ingredients available, thatâs for sure. What else? Cooking them to perfection, obviously. You can find this at Windrush, but not only. Matchings are D-I-V-I-N-E and carefully planned, nothing is left to chance. The cauliflower soup was perfectly balanced, the delicate flavor of cauliflower enhanced by the chives and the smoked salmon croutons. The important taste of the duck shepherdâs pie matched with an interesting braised red cabbage, and what can I say about the dessert? Crème caramel served with salty shortbread. Take together a bite of one and a spoon of the other⦠it was absolutely delicious. The place is beautiful, the owners lovely and the wine fantastic. Every time we visit Windrush we never leave disappointed. We keep recommending this place.Hi Flavia and Scott,Wonderfull to see you both again. Thank you so much for the kind words and so glad that we were able to replicate your previous experiences. Jan has put a lot of time and effort in coming up with dishes punched with flavours. We look forward to the next time you visit Windrush Wines & Cafe. All the best Kind regardsJan & John FletcherWindrush Wines & Cafe

Mount Barker Hotel is open 7days a week. Dining in the attached Lowood Bistro from 6pm, offers full table service dining. A menu which has something to please everyone, whilst still keeping the pub favourites. Further dining is available throughout the bu
Called in there today 20/05/19 for lunch. The mother and daughter team in the Cafe were so friendly and welcoming our meals were delicious, beautiful presentation our coffee extra hot as we requested. The atmosphere was quiet with soft music in the background. The only negative I can think of was that the wood heater was not on. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely go back.

First impressions were this is a very busy cafe. We seated ourselves near the window overlooking the street. Ordered our meals & wasn't long before water & glasses were on our table. 3 of us opted for toasted sandwiches & my hubby had the Nasi Goreng. Sandwiches were served with a side salad. Nasi Goreng looked & tasted divine. Iced coffees with icecream topped off a great meal. Waiter & waitress were very friendly.Later we went back for coffee with my son & daughter in law. When it came time for cafe to close, the owner told us to stay put & said they'd start the clean up while we chatted. We will certainly be back in the near future. Thankyou for making our 1st time visit a happy one.
