We visit this Hotel regularly. The front bar has all things to bet on. It is disappointing that the Open Mic Night is no longer. This was a wonderful place for locals and visitors to the region to get together and show off their talents. The food has improved enormously over the past 12 months. Clever lady chef does a great job - very well executed and even the salad bar is once again a pleasure to peruse. I do which they would put some basic Sauces out for the punters to have at the side instead of always having to ask. A really good wine list to choose from. Most of the staff are wonderful, friendly and very helpful, however on our most recent visit the "female waiting person with attitude" insisted on polishing the cutlery and THROWING it into the cutlery tray despite our asking her to do so quietly. I would fire her! Not what this Iconic Hotel needs. It has a great kid and dog friendly Garden area with magnificent Norfolk Pine tree to shade from the late afternoon sun. Always good value and great specials daily. Well worth a visit or three!

Hectors On The Wharf is a cafe bar overlooking the Murray River in Goolwa, South Australia. The establishment itself is uniquely positioned on the historic Goolwa Wharf, and is accessible not only by foot or car, but by boat as well. The name of the cafe
The menu was extensive and it took a while for my daughter and me to finally choose the beef salad, and we both loved the fusion of flavours and the tenderness of the beef. We will have to return to try the other impressive menu choices. The atmosphere was relaxing, the décor suited the maritime location and the service was excellent. Loved the whole ambience of the place. If I lived in Goolwa, I'd want to eat here every day.

Came here during school holidays with friends. Smart business - opening during holidays despite being closed on Tuesday normally.Delicious food. Ordered the roasted cauliflower and bread with dukkah for entrees. Warm, crusty bread was good and cauliflower was crunchy, tasty and wel balanced with the labne and pomegranate.Had salmon which was crispy skinned and modified for one guest to include just greens with it. Red duck curry was delicious (after I added some salt) and lamb cutlets were delicious too. Had a contemporary range of wines.Came back for a light shared breakfast and the food was cooked well. Didnât try their coffee. Very cool fitout, (exposed brick, polished concrete etc didnât offer much comfort on a cool day).Staff were friendly enough.

We've been passing Pipi's for quite a while - it is set back behind some trees on the main road. Finally we stopped in for breakfast with friends last Sunday. Great. Really interesting menu - I had hash potatoes (not the US style, but chopped small and fried), with smoked salmon and a couple of poached eggs on top. My wife had the special - eggs hollandaise with smoked trout. Friends had home-smoked beans, and bacon and egg roll. All just lovely, and with an individual feel to them. Coffee excellent too. Under $50 a couple. Lovely staff - run by young couple who employ 8 casuals. It is quite small inside, so I'd recommend going early, If the weather's good there's a pleasant courtyard out the back.
