The Local Shack began at 418 Murray Street Perth in 2010. It started as a humble bar and grill that offered unique infused vodkas and specialty burgers at a fraction of the competitorâs price. Value for money and something for everyone was our objective a
Great athmosphere, excellent friendly service.Daily secials are very good value. We went on Monday which is steak night. Excellent cooked Sirlion steak full sized, chips or mash, salad or vegies plus a glass of wine or a beer all for just 15.99 aud!A good place, recommending to anyone close by.

After more than 3 visits in the past 2 weeks, I can honestly say that the quality of the coffee can be up and down. 2 takeaway coffees were perfect, but the dine in coffee was too weak and had to be sent back. Xakes and bisquits pretty standard fare
I had passed this place within the shop a thousand times and decided to try it as I'd had a long day at work, it was already dark, Friday night and I was not in the mood to cook....convenience called!!! It is a Bain marie style of serving and I grabbed a few that were on display. The typical sweet and sour pork and honey chicken, a noodle dish & beef in black bean sauce.Considering I got a large family fried rice and 4 other dishes and it came in at approx $55 it was pretty good value for a family of five and there were left overs.Wouldn't say I'd be in a hurry to get it again though
Fantastic social enterprise delivery all hand/home made cakes, brownies, muffins, tarts, toasties, wraps, breakfast meals, smoothies, coffee and tea.. There is also a high end recycled clothing boutique attached to the cafe .
What an amazing place in The Hills and such a worthwhile cause. Eat, Drink, Relax, browse the recycled boutique, Chill some more....Full breakfast was awesome. Coffee the best Iâve had in Perth. Canât recommend highly enough and the ladies should be proud of everything theyâre doing! Inspirational.

From start to finish cannot fault this winery and restaurant. The wines are very good. The food in restaurant is outstanding and great value (we were a large group and the chef Ryan organised a set menu for us).The grounds are magnificent! Will definitely return.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Kalamunda, a small village in the PERTH hills. Approximately 7.5 kms from Perth airport. We had a Sunday lunch here and it was busy in a nice way. Lovely indoor decor with a warm fireplace. Lovely outdoor seating area with gas heaters. Good menu selection and a Seniors menu available 7 days per week. Excellent staff. Meals served nice and hot. Top spot.

Agree with James K re value for portion size, also the food itself. 2 Poached eggs came with 1 rasher of bacon, we asked for another rasher and paid $2 for it. Surprisingly this restaurant does not sell water, the supply a bottle of tap water on the table. Our water was warm we requested another bottle and the staff member said the cold bottles were in the fridge. We asked the staff member (Sophie) if we could have one, she walked away and came back with a bottle and rudely thumped the bottle on the table and walked away. Full Jacks breakfast was ok. French toast came with way to much fruit on it, more fruit than toast. Fruit toast with fresh conserve was nice.

Cooking isn't just a cooking it's an art and culture of life
We had the seafood platter which was well executed - a good range of dishes including chilli mussels, squid, barramundi and a lovely saffron/ coconut prawn dish. $79 for 2 which I thought wasnât bad value. I think a small portion of chips would go well with the platter - doesnât have to be a large serve. The grilled barramundi was a nice piece of fish but there was nothing to eat it with - if that makes sense. It does come with a few slices of toasted bread - for the mussels. Service was excellent - waitresses were very pleasant and helpful. My only gripe was the wait - the restaurant was only about 60% full but we waited nearly an hour for the mains. I wonder if there is an issue with the size of the kitchen because the exact same problem occurred when we visited this place in its Blue Ox incarnation. It does deserve to succeed though - lovely customer service.

Decided to try the new lunch time menuService at the counter was quick and polite.Selection, menu, not bad for $16Service was timelyPresentation, not badThe hamburgers were medium in size, well packed with cheese, beetroot, salad etc, but the meat Pattie was the blandest, most tasteless Pattie I've ever had, one wood associate it more with sausage meat.Still a nice pub

We took my mother to Kalamunda markets and a day out. We went to Mason & Bird for a light lunch. My husband and mother had toasted sandwiches which they enjoyed, but a bit greasy. I enjoyed the warm chicken salad, with nuts, seeds and sliced pear through it. Was very tasty.
