Watch being asked for water on way to the table! Unbeknownst to us, we thought we were agreeing to tap water, but were charged $8 for filtered water! Food was cold and we had to wait ages for the food to come to the table. Over inflated prices. Wouldn't eat here again.

We went here on our last night as it was the only place with bookings available. We were surprised by the quality of the steak which was really well cooked. The place was extremely busy with the waitresses practically running around. The only downside was that the main dishes came with no sides and therefore this made ordering a bit confusing.

Nice burgers prompt service . This is a budget choice on Hamilton island for a change away from the fine dining at Beach Club and various others .We went early ( 530 ish ) and so got a table straight away . There were large queues when we left at 7pm which perhaps aren’t warranted given the very limited menu . The food is nice ,maybe a bit over priced , but I perhaps wouldn’t want to be waiting 30 mins in a queues to get a burger !!

This restaurant charges extremely high prices and for that you want amazing food and great service. We got neitherBugs deep fried and over cooked nothing on the plate had any flavour As for the service at one point there were 6 staff at the bar chatting and we could not get anyone’s attention, one of our companions had to walk to the bar and talk to them. When wait staff did come to the table completely they missed obvious opportunities to fill glasses. We had to ask several times for our wine as it was kept at a distance which they then over poured. Very disappointing I counted 4 different wait staff on our table, here’s a hint to management assign tables to particular staff and they might improve. Train them to offer service before it’s asked for and when they are asked to deliver something the answer isn’t ‘yes yes I’m coming!’ It should never get to that point, and they should never talk to s first like it’s an inconvenience.

We had reserved a table for 3 evenings at the Pebble Beach restaurant prior to staying at the Qualia after reading previous reviews and were not disappointed. We were given a sealed envelope with two tasting menus inside (one was gluten free) when we arrived at the restaurant & we decided not to look at the menu making the evening more interesting. The food was imaginative and delicious with every course complimenting the previous ones, three fish, a steak course, then cheese followed by an outstanding dessert. We relaxed at the end of the meal with petit fours served with coffee & liqueur. The service matched the food & we appreciated having a fantastic view of the ocean whilst it was still light but could still hear the ocean lapping the shore when it got dark. On our second evening we were given a completely different tasting menus with different matching wines & we thoroughly enjoyed that evening because both the courses & matching wine were very different. We then eat in another restaurant for the next two evenings but returned for our last evening on Hamilton Island. We had already been asked what our favourite courses were from the previous evenings & the chef arranged for our own personalised menu, BRILLIANT!!!!The courses included Yellowfin Tuna, Marron (Crayfish) Salmon, & Duck, this restaurant would probably be recognised with a Michelin Star in Europe or a Chef Hat else where in Australia. A very special restaurant making our stay at the Qualia resort very memorable, thank you!!!!

We travelled to Dent island for the first time on the Golf Club Tour package. This is primarily aimed at non-golfers (couples and families) looking for an “excursion” culminating in a great meal. For $75pp we were ferried over to Dent (a special Golf Club ferry, that takes about 10mins), given a buggy to drive around for approx. 40mins to take in the spectacular sights of the 18 hole course, then seated for lunch in the Golf Club Restaurant for a beautiful 2 course lunch overlooking the water. I thoroughly recommend this tour (and have reviewed it separately under the Golf Club). The restaurant itself has a fabulous outlook, and all tables (on the deck or inside) can take in the view. We were pleased to be seated on the deck, but it soon became apparent our table was in a draught corridor. They have big sliding glass doors that open up the decking area to the restaurant and this creates a wind tunnel with the front door (serviettes and coasters were being blown away). We asked for 2 of the 3 panels to be closed, but were told only one could be closed. This meant one of us was protected from the wind, and the other wasn’t. So we moved inside. Staff were apologetic, but not overly quick to relocate us as we grabbed our drinks and chose our own table inside. I think only 2 of the 5-6 outdoor decking tables are affected by this. It would not have been an issue, had we brought coats or jackets, but we were in short sleeves. Dent island is frequently windy, so we were surprised this issue had not been adequately addressed. It wouldn’t take much to move the tables out of this area, the restaurant was barely half full.Apart from that, we were very happy with the food and subsequent service. They had a good wine and cocktail list, and we decided on mains and desserts for our 2 courses. My husband chose the Chicken (with Polenta parmesan puree, spinach cream, kale crisps, popcorn and jamon crumb with a red wine jus) and I chose the lamb (with Roast carrot puree, sumac labneh, dutch carrots, elderberry jus and a pistachio crumb). They looked fabulous, and tasted delicious (see photos). For dessert we chose the Eton Mess (Spiced meringue, elderberry mascarpone, freeze dried fruit, marshmallow and cherry gel) and the Chocolate Torte (with Peanut butter, white chocolate mousse, popping candy, raspberry granita and chocolate crackling). Again, these were outstanding.Yes, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a great foodie experience, but be sure to pack your coat!
