Me and my boyfriend dined here after enjoying the cultural center/museum also located at this site (quite an impressive collection of Aboriginal information). Unfortunately the cafe has an extremely bare offering - a few sandwiches in plastic wrap and a menu of some 5 items which try to showcase Australian bush food. It was also pretty barren guest-wise with only a couple of other patrons in. We ordered the bush food platter (which is what we had come for) and waited well over half an hour (maybe even an hour) for it to arrive at our table... and.. it was a very simple platter consisting of very little food, most of which didn't require cooking.. So we were pretty sure the one lady on duty was alone on her first day at work, or maybe filling in for several staff who hadn't turned up on the day? Regardless she was very flustered, had to check the blackboard several times to remind herself what we had ordered and was making very slow progress on the three simple ordered she had lined up... it was like the cafe didn't expect to be open?! And this was at 12pm! ... 'Weird' is definitely the word for it.. I wouldn't go back.

I have been here twice and had mixed experiences. The first one was great and of course, went back again. The second time was ho hum with staff that were indifferent and the food average. First time was steak and cooked well. Second time the steak was undercooked and when I asked for it to be cooked a little more, it came back burnt. There seemed to be no concern that I wasn't happy. Did note that there are some excellent choices for vegetarians. Plus the side salads were good. Drinks are a little pricey but okay. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram and stroller accessible. Good parking out the front.
We had an enjoyable sunset session here, looking up at the amazing scenery enjoying the delicious beers on tap! Was a lovely Saturday arvo, after a morning of rock climbing with Hangin Out adventures. The place was packed inside and out, yet it had a relaxed vibe and great service! The cauliflower croquettes were to die for!We will be back for sure!

If you are a tourist stopping in at Barney's you'll get a shock as the service is incredibly clunky. The staff are completely untrained which will be less of a surprise when you meet the manager who is very abrasive and intentionally rude. The food is okay, not terrible but not great either. Prices are typical. This is not a family friendly bistro with actual signs above the bar saying kids are not wanted. The kids meals are school canteen quality, eg. nuggets are dino snacks from the supermarket. This is the best place to get dinner in Pomonal because it is the only place to get dinner in Pomonal.

The restaurant was quiet and, due to cold weather, a little chilly. The Hot Stone cooking did not appeal so I ordered a Comfit of Duck which was nicely presented. Service was slow but courteous.

My wife and I visited Red Rock Olives which is about a 15 minute drive from Halls Gap. The owners are very knowledgeable and passionate about olives. We learned a great deal about olives during our visit. You can sample olives and olive oil in the on-site sales shop. There is also a small cafe the serves coffee and cake, Hi KenD121, We hope you spread your new olives knowledge! It's our passion, and we love sharing the health benefits of olive oil. Thanks for visiting, India

A really lovely place to have a meal & wonderful service. Good gluten free options. Had the pizzas & they were very generous in the toppings & meal sizes. Excellent value for money. They let us sit outside with our dogs as well. Highly recommend.

We had dinner at the Kookaburra. You place your order at the bar, then the food is delivered to your table. I had grilled fish and my wife had the Thai chicken salad. Both were good. The restaurant offers a number of local beers on tap, as well as many local, Grampian regional, wines.

The Views Restaurant & Bar has the best veiws in Halls Gap. Sit and have a delicious meal and watch the abundant wildlife that will entertain you whilst you enjoy beautifully presented food and experience the type of friendly service you expect. An experi
Went to dinner based on reviews , sadly the atmosphere and attitude of wait staff was lacking The clientele looked down at us as we entered , maybe because we were not in the purple perm club Our meal was was presented, tasteless and small Unsure about your comment about not being in the purple perm club, but it appears from that comment you suggested we have only older ladies as customers. Not very funny bax 737. Most guest suggest we have large servings perhaps it may have been small for your appetite. Tasteless is not our usual problem either unless you eat it too quick I guess! I am unsure about atmosphere but I guess the views were good as we believe they are best available. Thanks!

The food here is fantastic. Came here a couple of years ago and glad to say itâs still great here! Would definitely recommend the rhubarb rice pudding, banana bread, and coffee. Itâs great that they accept reusable coffee cups here, thatâs a winner for me!Hey travellingpfitzy, Thanks for your review! It is so great to have you back at LiveFast, it is always lovely to hear or see customers returning to Halls Gap after time away. Coffee is a no brainer but the rice pudding and banana bread is a very good recommendation, especially in the cold weather at the moment so you did very well. We try our best to be as sustainable as we can and highly encourage reusable coffee cups so you would've been a winner in our eyes! Thanks again, Amber.
