Things to do in Emerald
Have been a couple times now. Hard to pass as staff are so friendly and welcoming, food is delicious, coffee is great and prices affordable. If you're in Emerald head over the bridge to the shopping centre.

They claim to have the best pies in CQ. I find this claim dubious at best. The pie was okay, I have had worse. The lamington, on the other hand, was dry and barely edible.
Attached to the modern Mayfair Ridge Motel, Salt Bar & Grill is the ideal place to hold your function, whether it be a wedding, birthday, farewell, Christmas party, high tea or an excuse to catch up â we can offer a variety of options and packages includi
Very please with the quality of food. The only disappointment was the service. We waited half an hour for a waitress to bring us a dessert menu. They staff seemed to be looking around for things to do, but not noticing our table. I eventually caught a waiters attention, apparently they did not expect a very busy night and were short staffed. We would dine here again, the food was excellent, pricey but nice

Motel Restaurant
I was staying here overnight for business and decided to dine in and I'm very glad I did. The food was very tasty and service was great. I had oysters and garlic prawns which weer both beautifully cooked. The waiters couldn't have been nicer they kept everything in the humming in the busy dining room.

Every time we travel to Emerald we dine at the Western Gateway Restaurant and have never been disappointed with any meal. Also a very comprehensive wine list if you like a wine with dinner. They also have a great big Breakfast as well. Will always return to this restaurant.

We wanted to try this famous restaurant, we arrived around 8.30pm. The restaurant is supposed to close at 11pm but the waiter said to us that we have to order quickly because the kitchen will close in 2min.+Crocodile Spring Rolls, very nice +Excellente wine+Good cocktails +Excellente Crème Brûlée, very creamy, taste amazing -hurried waiter-no enough time for check the menu well-pork pasta good but nothing special -not a big deal but the french rap music...no, we are french and hear that in a kind of gastronomic restaurant it's just terrible. If you want to go there just go as soon as you can or call before, i'm sure than the service will be better like that. Anyway, it's a good restaurant, good food and amazing wines.
What to do and see in Emerald, Australia: The Best Places and Tips

Was in Emerald and wanted a decent brekky. Google pointed me in the direction of this cafe, which is situated in an interesting, almost retro, shopping arcade/area, I believe called the Emporium. Service was terrific and there was just no problem with mixing and matching across numerous brekky suggestions. Food was very good, and the coffee totally acceptable. I will be back.

Stopped by with a colleague. His order was tabled with obliterated eggs. When asked the waiter said yes the cook accidentally flipped them and they burst. Second time round his Sunnyside up over easy eggs were served flipped and dry. My Cob breakfast which should be called the "Too much tomato" was a disappointing soggy mess served in what looked like a hamburger bun. The coffee tasted like a mid range instant with no crema. How this place has such a high rating is baffling. The waiter was off in another dimension. The place isn't that big and when I approached the counter to pay while leaving he asked if I wanted to be seated inside or out? This lack of attention is a core competency here. See you again, not likely.
