Gastown East offers Canadian influenced drinks, brunch and a dinner menu ideal for sharing.
We tried Gastown East after having a failure at another cafe. They are a small cafe/restaurant overlooking the Bellerive Quay. Staff are welcoming and efficient. You have an option of seating inside or outside on the back deck overlooking the yachts. Service was quick . You can have, depending on the time of day, breakfast items, lunch or just a drink with and cakes etc. or just a drink. We had two âflat whitesâ and a shared Florentine to die for. If you want something yummy and fresh pop in. Dennis

This restaurant has to be visited. The food is absolutely delicious. The wine selection is very very good. The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere inside is great. This is a Tapas style restaurant so enjoy choosing a variety of different dishes. We tried the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Oysters and Watermelon Lime Granita, Drunken Goats Cheese, Beetroot Tartare. For mains we had the Duck and Lamb Desert was Strawberry Mousse and Coffee crema Catalana. Everything was delicious. Do yourself a favour and visit here, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Cafe Centrally located on the corner of Davey and Evans Streets and open Monday to Saturday, it's the first point of call for many busy locals and traveling tourists. With the convenience of five minute parking right outside, picking up a coffee and a bit
We had a delicious breakfast at the cafe which consisted of a muffin with poached egg, spinach, bernaise sauce and smoked salmon and it was about $7, my husband had the muesli and fresh fruit which he really enjoyed. All their prices were very reasonable. Very pleasant staff.

Salamanca Wharf Cafe features an all day breakfast menu, along with lunch, sweets and many delicious take away options.
As a table of 5 we arrived and the menu read well...thatâs where the good experience ended.... after a long wait to order and an even longer wait to get the food... some 55minutes later we were served hard and over cooked eggs, undercooked bacon, cold hollandaise. Not too mention arriving before other tables and getting served after....Something went drastically wrong... unfortunately we wonât be back. We're really sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience.Unfortunately we had a way higher demand that day than was expected and were understaffed with a large number of big group bookings at the same time which can be hard to keep in check with a small kitchen. If you'd like to come back and give us another chance we'd be more than happy to offer you your meal on the house.

Small breakfast spot with one chef under the pump with the whole restaurant watching. Plate after plate of delicious food was being delivered, and while there is a bit of wait (to be expected), it certainly delivered on expectations. I had the pudding while my partner had the tartine, both delicious. Highly recommend, just don't expect a quick in and out breakfast and coffee.

This place surprises. It's a lot bigger inside than you'd think and the standard is exceptional (no surprise there really if you've been to Frogmore Creek at Cambridge)! Staff were very well informed and service was courteous and efficient. So many dishes to choose from - they all intrigued me!Well, I had to start somewhere so it was the Pirates Bay Octopus Carpaccio with five spice gel, avocado puree, bottarga, basil and potato croutons. This was accompanied by Spanner Crab and nori with soy braised daikon, sesame wakame, kewpie, kalini and salt cured egg. Delicious! We chose a side dish of Broccolini with burnt butter and smoked almond crumble. Nice texture and beautifully presented. Then it was time for the Three Rivers eye fillet crudo with egg yolk gel, Argentinian chimmi churri, cauliflower crisps, crispy capers and garlic snow. Yum.We then shared the honey brown mushroom tortellini with nasturtium salsa verde. wild mushroom broth, crispy enoki and kale. The flavours were sensational! We finished by sharing a decadent dessert. The Frogmore Cigar. I think the photo speaks for itself. The wine was reasonably expensive but the meals are all great value for what you get. Superb flavours, ideas, presentation and service. We'll be there again soon!Great views and ambience and I'd recommend for a romantic date evening!

Bakers Of bread, Viennoiserie, cakes, patisserie & provisions. Full breakfasts, morning and afternoon tea, & lunch are offered in a bustling environment with professional service. Takeaways available, and child friendly.
If i didn't know any better I was back in Paris walking the streets and enjoying the exquisite baking that only they can do. The display of cakes and pastries is amazing and the cafe was buzzing. Great service, good coffee but the croissants were terrific and so was the Danish. I'm going back for macarons and maybe some croissants to take home. I wish there was this type of cafe in the north west of Tasmania I'd be a very happy person.

A curious new restaurant on the Hobart waterfront...
We reserved a table at Peacock & Jones for 6 pm when the restaurant opened. The restaurant is well decorated with lighting on what looks like the original stone walls of the building. We chose to eat in the front room where it was not so cold and we sat at the end of the row of tables set against the wall. They have free wi-fi. We had Huon Valley pork with broccoli and a cheese plate for dessert. We also had a glass of Minton Iced Riesling, grateful that they had sweet dessert wines in the menu. The food and service were excellent, but the price was a bit higher than other restaurants in the area.Dear Staidthere,There's an ounce of right-place right-time for some of our team - like a lot of things in life, I suppose - to be able to point to such a revered and earnest dining space and say, "that's where I work." It beats looking at slate-grey walls lacking in character, in any case. Hopefully this translates to an experience worthy of the memory and we do try to match that with equally compelling food and service. Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to share your thoughts. The next time you're in the area, I hope the memory of the place is enough to compel you to return. All the best,Joshua.

I went here recently when visiting Tassie and made sure I fitted in two more visits before leaving as the coffee was so good! Highly recommend the food as well.

It was my second visit after a few years and with so many new offerings in Hobart I was a bit concerned about my choice. No need. From the warm welcome to the cheery departure the waiting staff team were impeccable. Well informed but not pretentious they guided us through food and wine. My eye fillet with Cafe Paris butter was sublime. The dessert menu isnât huge but what is on offer is beautifully prepared with all the flavours there. Nice lighting, parking a few steps from the door, a feeling of intimacy at each table. Iâll be back for another.Dear GeorgiaMany thanks for your kind words, we're pleased that you enjoyed your dinner at Landscape Restaurant & Grill and appreciated the ambience, the professional and warm hospitality and the great steaks and classic desserts. Thanks for taking the time to post your positive review and we look forward to your return.Kind regard,Justin Johnstone, F&B Manager, Henry Jones Art Hotel. On behalf of the the Landscape Restaurant & Grill team
