I googled dog friendly pub our first night in Alice and this place came up. Walked 20 minutes to get there with our best mate and it was well worth it. Great atmosphere, good selection of beer, terrible food. We ordered three plates from the tapas menu and they all came out exactly the same colour with the same dipping sauce, tasteless. The chicken was inedible strips of gluten or something I would presume. One star for food, three stars for atmosphere but they get a four for their great dog policy.

Came here for lunch because Bojangles was mobbed with drinkers and wasn't serving food. When I walked in here, there was one guy drinking a beer and it was otherwise vacant. Ordered the basic burger (I think it was called the Rock Burger) which comes with chips AKA french fries. I'd describe the service as indifferent. Once I got my food, I was forgotten. I had to go up to the bar and help myself to some paper napkins and a bottle of tomato sauce for the chips. At first the burger was alright, but then I noticed it was quite pink inside. I ended up only eating about half or so of it. I didn't get the feeling that anything would be done if I complained. The "beer-battered" chips were seasoned and pretty good. I finished and left, without anyone ever checking on me. Will try someplace else next time.Hi Candace,Thank you for your review this is by no means how we pride ourselves in service. Can I please ask you for some more details? Date of visit, any interactions that happened with staff. If you would like to email me if itâs easier my email is [email protected] for this experience I hope you will allow me to rectify it. Regards Fiona

Food was good for being a pub, the vibe was a tad loud but pleasant and cheerful, but the service was very rude and did not seem to care at all about its customers

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant has established a reputation for quality food and friendly service within a picturesque natural setting. Guests enjoy a distinctive array of cuisine including local bush flavours and a select wine list.
We chose this restaurant due to the good reviews on trip advisor and due to being Accor members. The food and the service were a huge disappointment. We ordered a confit duck that was cremated, a walnut salad that was bland and dry, and a steak that was average. Thankfully the jus from the steak dish helped the dry duck go down. We thought dessert would save the meal... we were wrong! The panna cotta was equally bland. The service was equally bland. At least the wine was nice, canât go wrong with a sav Blanc from Marlborough NZ. Our advice, go the Red Ochre in town instead!

Look at this for a humdinger of a breakfast. Shrooms on toast - it also had hommus ( home made ), roasted cauliflower, feta, poached eggs and rocket, served surrounded by a sprinkling of seeds and dried fruits. It was a stunning feast for the eyes, even before I tasted it. Top marks, Piccolo's, bravo!

Had lunch here one day, and breakfast the next. A small but well executed menu, served by smiling staff. Its well patronised by locals and caters for young families with its sandpit to keep small children out from under parents feet. Tables under the verandah or out in a gazebo or under a tree. Loved the smoothies, the fruit toast and the buttery toasties.

Well done to the staff with their cheerful and friendly service. A popular venue and the reason might be the nice ambience. Our meals were very tasty, and the choices are varied. I know locals like this place, and a reservation is a good idea.
