who would choose to have Japanese food in Myammar ?!?! we thought as well..we walked past Gekko several times, and couldnât help but notice the alluring lighting and decor. on our last day, we succumbed to the temptation. and went in for a snack. we ordered roasted egg plant salad, wasabi prawns, bao and a couple of drinks. we were pleasantly surprised by the tasty food. My hubby had tea-and-sympathy (tea sake n whisky w ginger honey), and i had movie-like-jaggery (bourbon, creme de cassis, plum jaggery) cocktail. the drinks were interesting; so original and inventive. what a pleasant surprise to find good japanese food and bar here! Thank you for your kind words Winnie, we are delighted to have been a pleasant surprise and are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed everything so much!

What initially began with the first restaurant in Yangon serving German cuisine has evolved into one of Yangonâs hotspots, providing a great variety of international dishes. Carefully created with an eye to detail, youâll find delicious dishes from variou
The soup was very good so the meats. Not exactly the type of diet Iâd personally have in hot places daily but once in a while wonât harm. The meats in this âfor 2 plateâ were all good excepted the one with tomato sauce and peperoni, really a too thick sauce, it seemed they cooked the bell peppers in a ketchup sauce to give you an idea. The bad point is that I found an thick black hair under the meat, I reported this to the waitress that blandly apologized, but obviously they donât wear a kitchenâ hat so better they take it seriously and start wearing it.It is a pity because I wanted to rate this place higher.Dear Carloc, Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about our restaurant. We have well noted your comment about the sauce, and have already told your feedback to our chef. I'm really sorry to read you found a hair in your plate. Please note that Hygiene is for us a priority, and we everyday take the time to train our teams and set up procedure to ensure the quality of the food we serve. Please note that our chef are wearing kitchen's hat, as well as professional chef uniform, security shoes and apron. Nevertheless, we will keep controlling and training our teams to offer you a better service in the future. We hope to Welcome you back soon for a better experience!Best RegardsMathieu

Enjoy the exotic, local cuisine of Myanmar, with its subtly blended spice, or select from a wide variety of European fine-dining specialties. Mandalay Restaurant at Belmond Governor's Residence benefits from a romantic location, surrounded by tropical gar
First off, the service here is second to none. Exceptional and attentive service all throughout the evening and it couldn't have been any better. The Ambience is excellent too with a vintage British charm and aura to the place. And then comes the slightly disappointing aspect. The food. It was a bit underwhelming as I feel they have tailored this to a western palate. It lacked the punch and flavour. Don't get me wrong, the food was very well presented and tasted good. But it just did not match our expectations and the high standard of this hotel. A total of $150 for 7 of us including all drinks, service charges and taxes. A memorable experience indeed, well worth a visit as long as you keep your food expectations in check.

food here was fantastic, service quick and setting nice. The bill came in at more than what I would expect based on the size of the dishes and drinks served. I can not fault the quality and taste.

Myanmar authentic food collection from various regions of the whole our country .We avoid " MSG " for health and all kind of meet is safety in " Hala ".We also make sure for pure vegetarian clients, gluten free and any kind of food allergic person.
Sit-down restaurant with AC and decent wait staff - slow at times- to get introduced to the various cuisines of Myanmar. I have been there a couple of times and enjoyed the experience each time. The big tray/platter is recommended for a group to get a taste of several cooking styles in one sitting. You can ask the staff to adjust the level of spiciness as some ethnic dishes can be quite hot.

Kiplingâs Restaurant and Kiplingâs Terrace â Our elegant fine dining restaurant offers seasonally changing âPan Asian Cuisineâ by Chef Florian Eberhardt, inspired by his 10 years of working throughout South East Asia.
My mother came to visit us for a week in Yangon, and requested to eat here three times - including a final dinner before heading to the airport. The staff is incredible, the atmosphere very comfortable, the food delicious (donât miss the salad with truffle dressing), and the GM very welcoming. What most impressed me, however, was the one time I ordered something that I didnât like - the staff immediately replaced it and the chef came out after our meal to chat - they really are invested in making sure their guests have a great experience.

A signature Wai Wai's Shan noodle is now open in downtown area at Bo Aung Kyaw St, west opposite of the landmark The Secretariat.
Great introduction to Burmese good very tasty but not too spicy. Tomato and ginger salads excellent and the roof top location was great once you have climbed 4 flights of stairs. Great staff really recommended.

We provide variety of food but our specialty is Shan Noodle and fish pounded with rice from the original taste of Shan State. Please remember to try our signature dish Fish with lime as well.
Service was excellent, staff very friendly and spoke very good English. Menu was in English and had pictures so was easy to see what you were ordering. Food was very tasty and was still hot when it arrived, nice big portions. Thai fried rice a must to try. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend
Chanced upon this restaurant during our day tour. Initially we thought that with the huge elegant place and well dressed up staff, food will be expensive but my friend and I were surprised to have such huge servings. As we stumbled at this place during lunch time, there were no customers when we came in. Service was great and they even gave us some live harp music at the stage. Recommending this place if you want elegant service at affordable food price. We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience at Karaweik Palace. Its wonderful to hear such positive review. We hope to see you again.Thank you.
