Xemxija (Maltese: Ix-Xemxija, pronounced shem-shee-ya) is a suburb on the western part of St. Paul's Bay in the Northern Region, Malta. It is a quiet resort, surrounded by Maltese countryside and some of the most fertile valleys in Malta. There is also a picturesque small fishing harbour. The resort is the gateway to the sandy beaches of Golden Bay and to Mellieħa Bay. There are a number of hotels and restaurants in Xemxija.

Situated on the roof terrace of a hotel, Antonine Al Fresco has an enviable spot. You look out on to Mellieha's beautiful cathedral and over to the bay which is spectacular. To start, I had the tempura vegetables which were amazing. A colourful mix of vegetables in a light and crisp tempura batter, it tasted fresh and delicious.I followed this with a wonderful vegetable red thai curry. It had just the right level of heat and contained a nice mix of fresh vegetables, making a warming dish. This all surrounded by the most amazing views in town.The service was attentive and helpful and probably amongst the best we experienced in Malta.We had a lovely meal here with some delicious and authentic Thai food, which also made a nice change to all of the Mediterranean restaurants around. If you fancy something a bit different while you are in Malta and don't mind heights, this place is excellent.

This restaurant is part of the DB hotel however they really tried to make it feel like it was an independent venue in it's own right. The service was exceptional and the food was tasty and hot with plenty of choice. This place turned me into an Indian food lover! All dishes served to us were rich in flavour and portions were outstanding. Definitely recommend their Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma whose sauces also taste divine with a selection of Naan bread. Service was great and value for money is great too, however no words can describe how good the food tasted! 10/10 will visit again this year!

Was at the Food Festival in Mdina and tried the food from this restaurant which prompted us to visit them in Bugibba.Large restaurant very spacious We ordered various dishes and everything was very good full of flavourThe poppadoms were the best on the island definitely The only thing that wasnât so nice was the paneer dish - maybe make paneer tikka ?We will return at Christmas so my husband can try Good prices too Nice friendly lady serving Thank you, Salousta, We at House of Spice would like to thank you for awarding us 5 stars. I took my Nan, wife and 2 year old and we were very impressed. I had the beef madras (the best Iâve ever had by far) the tikka masala was amazing and so was the korma. Our 2 year old enjoyed the chicken makhani as did I haha! The service is impeccable and very attentive, we felt very welcome even with a small child they were very professional. Couldnât recommend a better Indian restaurant. Thankyou!!

There are many restaurants in Mellieha serving very similar dishes, albeit varying in quality. For something different you must try Amami. Amazing setting, tasty food and great service, at a very reasonable price. Such a refreshing change to have a restaurant like this amongst the usual fish/steak/rabbit serving places in the town. Visited here whilst on holiday and so glad we did. We went for the set menu which at â¬20 each was well worth it, soup, wontons, spring rolls, seaweed, pancakes, chicken with cashews, deep fried crispy pork, beef in black bean, special fried rice and special noodles = very happy and full customers. Service was good and we wouldnât hesitate to return.
