"The Seven seas " at The Blue Water.24 Hours Coffee shop / A la cart Restaurant.
This review is based on a married couple in their 50's without children. We stayed at The Blue Water Hotel between 9/12/16 and 22/12/16, we dined here numerous times during our stay. The dining area is situated in a open sided hallway just by the main reception, ideal if your preference is to eat outside of the air conditioned dining areas as ours is. The food here is magnificent, my wife and I dined here many times during our stay and sampled a few delicacies on the menu. The staff are attentive and courteous, tending to your every need. The food is to die for and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be dining here during our next visit to Sri Lanka.
Only if you like fish!! In fact that is all you will get. Its fresh, Caught in the morning usually, so what is on the menu depends what was caught. You can watch them bringing in the catch on the beach in the morning. Its simple fresh and either grilled which I would recommend with some local spices but not too hot!! or fried. We went into the kitchen to choose the fish. Had a grilled Coral fish between the two of us plus salad and chips. Beautiful!! All very laid back and very friendly. We were of interest to the staff however as I filleted the fish with a knife and fork while the locals do it with their fingers!!If you want wine,,,bring your own. They only have beer. No problem they will give you glasses ice bucket. As it is right next door to the Blue Waters Hotel you can walk it either via the beach or via the road from the front of the hotel. The cost is mid range for Sri Lanka but cheap against UK prices.

Spend a day at "Ocean Ripples Resort" and the stay was quite fabulous. The owners and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was tasty. Also, the maintenance of the villas are great. The surrounding is very quite and ideal to spend a vacation in a hideout away from city life. Walking distance to beach and the Wadduwa city. The place is best for stay over a night. But also recommend for group of people for a hangout or a spend the day.Happy stay at Ocean Ripples Resort!!

Tikka owns and runs a vibrant restaurant and bar. We stayed B&B at the Tangerine Beech Hotel and wished we'd ventured outside sooner. The hotel was lovely in every aspect however not surprisingly expensive if you are not fully inclusive. The food at Oasis is lovely, tuna, salads, pizza all washed down with white wine and/or Lion beer. Despite our holiday rep telling us not to eat salads or have ice in drinks outside the hotel, Oasis is spotlessly clean, we ate lunch and dinner there loads of times and had no problems whatsoever. Tikka, his wife and his staff are all very friendly and attentive, multi-lingual and if we ever go back to Kalutara we will definitely go there again. On our last night they prepared a table specially for us with candles and flowers suspended in a fishing net above the table. One of the staff has the most amazing Tuk Tuk with full sound system and lighting, make sure you see it!Thank you Dudley for your visit. It was a pleasure to meet you. We hope to see you back one day.Best regardsTikka and Team

Nice place. We sat outside in the garden. Buildings both sides give the place a cosy and private feel.Reviews were promising.Prompt and attentive service, a good start.First gripe from my teenager - fresh orange juice was more like strong orange squash. So we ordered a lime juice, mixed the 2 and all okay.Food came quickly, nice surprise there as we have had to wait at other restaurants. One lobster- over cooked! One medium prawns - over cooked!!If you major in seafood you must know how to cook it, surely.Devilled prawns and shark stake - no complaints. Not the meal we had hoped for having read other recent reviews. A shame.

We stayed in a Club Suite and had access to the Nautilus for lunch and dinner whenever we wanted to skip the standard buffet (which was rather often). The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Menu changed daily and was rather extensive. Service was friendly and fairly quick. The setting was nice, specially sitting outside with candles at dinner time.

Come by our cozy, kid-friendly restaurant, where we serve-up a delicious menu which includes halal food. For your entertainment, we have live music. We also offer outdoor seating and table service. Reservations accepted, so feel free to book in advance. W
We ordered the seafood plate for 3 people. Lobster, crab, prawns, a whole fish and calamari all tasted excellent. Nilantha, the owner, is a very nice guy and speaks excellent English. The music was very nice as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Little off the street, but definitely worth the tuk-tuk ride. Amazing seafood, great service and did I say amazing seafood? Some of the best we have eaten even from Australia. Chilli sauce/marinade is amazing if you like spicy, but also has non-spicy option. Host even drove down the road to buy vodka for our drinks. Canât recommend enough. A MUST EAT. Trust me

My gorgeous wife and I have visited Sri Lanka twice and this restaurant is the best place we have eaten from both visits! I ordered the mini samosa to start, which was very nice. My clever wife on the other hand ordered the lobster ravioli which was mind blowing! Soooo tasty, a must have when visiting this restaurant! For main I had the chicken with pineapple rice and my wife had the tuna, we kept going back and forth trying to decide which main was better. In truth they both were fantastic! Most surprisingly we actually had a good desert! Something Iâve always found lacking in Sri Lanka, my wife had a coconut and honey pancake and I had some home made ice cream. Both very tasty! The only frustration we had was from ordering to our starter the wait was 50min but it was certainly worth it! I also wonât lie to you itâs probably in line with London pricing, we both had 3 courses and one cocktail each and the meal came to 70 quid, but it was well worth it! While Iâm sitting here getting hungry for tonightâs dinner the only thing stopping us going back is the monsoon like rain that is making a 10min tuk tuk ride an almost impossible task.
