Nothing special... just another Chinese buffet all-you-can-eat restaurant. Friendly people, clean and good variety!

I don't know anymore how many times I ate there already. The image is still the same, great and friendly! They have various food of Asian and the Mongolian grill, my husband's fave. The location is not in the main street but easy to reach (next to the big exhibition hall of Villingen). From Tuttlingen, just turn right after the traffic light in the junction (the left to Bad Dürrheim).Every time we visit with 5 or more people, we get a voucher (5⬠or % discount with her signature). In the end, the lady always come and talk to us, even to our kids. I prefer a special drink with alcohol (Chinesische Snap?) as a goodbye to be changed into chocolate or something else. I think it's a "medicine" just like German's style with "Snap."P.s: They should have a kids' corner to play or to draw something to make them busy.

When you have lived for decades in cities with strong Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai communities and restaurants (San Jose/CA, Seattle), you approach a Chinese/Thai restaurant in South-Western Germany with some trepidation. And so we hesitated in front of Sao Mai. Then a German family passed us on the way up to the restaurant, so we shamelessly stopped them and said: have you eaten there before, and did you like it? They said: Yes, it's great, you should try it!We did, and were soooo happy to have done so!All sorts of seafood dishes - shrimp, fish, squid - then of course duck and beef and pork and chicken. Vegetable dishes too, and the menus for two persons went for pages and pages. My wife chose a crispy duck dish that the Vietnamese born lady serving us recommended, and I went for a three types of seafood dish - we were both extremely happy with our choices, and would warmly recommend this restaurant to anyone.Chinese & Thai dishes this good in SW Germany is really unusual. They do not use MSG, and it still tastes great, plus now it's actually healthy! Lots of veggies in their dishes, if you come to Bad Dürrheim to improve your health, you cannot do more for it on the nutrition side than visiting Sao Mai.We vigorously recommend this restaurant!

I really didnât like the restaurant. Japanese Cousine is in my top 3 and I ate it all over the world. This restaurant is the worst Iâve ever been too and the prices make it even more worst.

Frau Christina Strauss invited me two times to celebrate a Christmas here. With a group of 25 people, the restaurant was already full. I enjoyed the decorations, which I believed more Vietnamese' s style than Chinese's. The owner and waitress were friendly. I heard they had a Vietnamese traditional uniform long time ago (in the beginning). Now, I couldn't see it. Toooooooo pity. It might be something special to the guests like me, right? But they have a right to decide. It's just a suggestion.Oh. Their food is just delicious. Like a Vietnamese mom's recipe. My fave is still the duck and vegetable's Frühlingsrollen. Be careful with the plates before usage, they are usually hot. Hmm ... I felt like the Mango juice and lychee were from cans. I dreamed to have it fresh pressed. Haha ... tropical fruits drinks.P.s: To go to their toilet, you need to go upstairs. Watch out your steps, might be slippery! This restaurant is located in the old town, nice to walk around there even through the darkness. Enjoy.
