Vijlen (Limburgish: Viele) is a village in the South-East part of the Dutch province of Limburg. The village is constituted of a number of hamlets, among which Mamelis, Camerig, Harles and Cottessen. Including these hamlets, Vijlen has around 1,500 inhabitants (in 2005) and is part of the municipality of Vaals. Located at 200 meters above Normaal Amsterdams Peil, on top of the Vijlenerberg (Vijlener hill), it is the highest situated town in the Netherlands. The neo-gothic and Catholic St. Martinus church, which is located in the center of the village, is known as the highest located church in the country.

The menu has lots and lots of different kinds of dumplings to choose from. We shared a vegetarian and vegan offerings, and both kinds were both delicate and delicious. There were lots of meat varities too, if you prefer, but it is veggie-friendly.We went at lunchtime on a Saturday and all of the tables were occupied. The member of staff was very friendly and told us roughly how long the wait was (there are seats inside), and we did get a table quickly. Al talloze keren langsgereden, nu maar eens gestopt.Onhandig ingerichte parkeerplaats, entree niet helemaal duidelijk maar eenmaal binnen aangenaam verrast door nette inrichting.Sanitair is wel oud, maar schoon.Vriendelijke bediening, en het concept is waarschijnlijk wel duidelijk voor iedereen(!) Het duurt af en toe wel erg lang trouwens..Niet altijd en bij alle gerechtjes even goed, en het dessertbuffet is bijvoorbeeld zeer matig, maar gezien de vraagprijs een zeer goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding, vandaar 4 bolletjes als waardering.

We went yesterday with a friend to eat sushi at Kanpai. We really enjoyed the food and the serving was also great. My one and only objection was the price.If the prices were 20% lower than they are now I would probably be there really often!

I thoroughly enjoyed eating sushi at Best Friends. I was taken aback by how fresh the sushi tasted and how many options I was able to choose from. The restaurant also had a cosy and sweet ambience, nothing fancy but also nothing too casual, just family friendly and you could tell everyone around you enjoyed their meal. Would definitely recommend if you're craving for some sushi!
