Finally, we have a magnificent Sushi place on the island. Everything was just perfect, food and service. Extremely creative and delicious rolls, some of them were served with their own special sauce rather than the one-size-fits-all soy sauce. Great Job all around!!!

Been here several time before and always left the place feeling that perhaps it was not the proper food that we ordered. After all, we came for the Vietnamese, but ordered something else. This time we went straight for the kill. Ordered same dishes as we order in the Vietnamese restaurants in Brooklyn. All dishes, somehow had a Chinese smell to them. You'd be laughing, but the Vietnamese dishes we eat have a distinct smell and taste. And these did not. So, this third time we agreed not to return here again, for the place had failed to satisfy our Vietnamese taste buds. Definitely a decent Chinese place though.

Arrived with my mom and two kids...decor is very nice...kids loved sitting in what looked like bamboo huts...jungle feeling with tiki heads everywhere...waiter was very nice and attentive...hot tea was lovely...but then the food. Chicken and broccoli was bland...totally flavorless amd oily...sesame chicken was okay..but very salty...when i ordered it i was asked white or dark meat- which is weird...have never been asked that before....and i was wasnt informed that white mear would cost me an extra $1.00...no big deal its only a dollar but im.not sure its not a scam...how the hell could u make it any orher way except with white meat?? The roast pork lomein was good...very flavorful. When the waiter asked how our meal was we were honest. He said nothing nor dis he ofder ro take anything off the check. When we got the check we asked for the chicken amd broccoli to be removed from it since it was horrible...he actually argued with us that it was eatten...it wasnt...it was left on our plates. He finally took it off the bill...but what a disappointment...wont be back.

The food is Sri Lankan not Indian. Please provide the name of someone I can follow up with re: providing travel videos to tripadvisor. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Dahlia Welsh.
We happend to be in Staten Island, NYK on a long weekend, where my cousin from Sri Lanka took us to this place. After spending about 1.5 months away from SL, we were craving for our usual tastes. The restaurant excellently exceeded our expectations. They had rice and curry with spicy chicken and fish curries, short eats (cutlets, fish rotty, vege rotti, fish bun), kottu, etc etc. And on top of all, they had Elephant Ginger Beer and other soft drinks to our amaze. The owner was very friendly. Per head the cost was around 18-20$ with a large rice and curry plate, 1 shorteats each and a drink bottle.

Chang Noi means 'Small Elepant' in Thai. We seat approx. 15 & a short 5 min. walk from the Staten Island Ferry. Lunch specials from 1130am-930pm weekdays...authentic Thai.
This is a small restaurant in St George. This was my wife and I second time here and both times we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and everything is made too order.Restaurant seats about 20 to 25 people and is a BYOB which is nice.We were seeing a show at St George Theater so we had dinner and a few drinks before. The owner Bane was really nice took the time to tell us a little about the place and his staff. If your looking for good Thai food and a simple setting give Chang Noi a try.

Sri Lanka is often called the Isle of Paradise, and Lakruwana captures the artistry and feel in a tiny space on Staten Island in an unassuming neighborhood. The lunch buffet was delicious, plentiful, beautiful and most of all completely authentic. Served in traditional pottery, the food was well flavored and carefully prepared. Sri Lankan food requires effort, patience and love and both are completely evident in all the dishes. The kitchen easily whipped up a platter of perfect hoppers, croquettes (cutlets) and kothu rotti in addition to our lunch buffet order. Well worth a trek out to Staten Island to enjoy the charming hospitality of the family who runs this restaurant and sample some delectable treats! I would happily visit every weekend if I lived in the NYC area!
