Well I'm the last one to have reviewed this place and I must say it's even better. The desserts are in plenty there fruit ice cream cake biscuits and jelly. The soups are still as lovely with lovely little Nik naks to dip in it. Lots of choice more than last time lots of dishes and sides plus the duck is not fatty for the pancakes . Good service

The yang Xing is by far the best Chinese in st Helens. The staff are extreme polite and helpful and can't do enough for youThe food is beautiful very great and excellent quality and very reasonably priced. We love it here and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

looking on the website the pictures of the food dont show what it realy is in real life,i attended with a wheelchair user,upon entering the building the foyer looked drab and unkempt ,not a good start,the small lift to get to the main dining area was shaky and wouldnt start ,i had to go upstairs and close the door before the lift would work,ok as i could walk up a long staircase but if the wheelchair user was alone they couldnt of.we got to the main eating area and the floor felt tacky underfoot as if it hadnt been mopped corectly,the staff were and always are very helpfull,starting to look around at the selection and tried the ribs,now these looked nice on there website but in reality small ends of ribs and not a lot of meat on them. only one beef dish ,too many chicken dishes.at the terykki where one could choose 3,4,5 types of meat or seafood to have theres now a notice saying only 2 types allowed why is this?,the noodle soup has gone,this was where they made a soup for your liking.there were a number of dishes that were empty and not filled ,the sushi bar was ok,but ive been here over the past few years now ,usualy once a month.the place seems to be lacking the food they used to have the selection etc,the decor at the entrance is drab and needs a good overhaul.now as we paid for the evening buffet which is more expensive after 5pm one would think that more attention to detail on having the food topped up.although he staff were helpful there seemed to be less staff on to take drink orders etc,now this was a midweek visit but that shouldnt matter.We appreciate your feedback and concerns regarding your recent visit. Recently visited the Cottage Tandoori in Rainford on the outskirts of St Helens. We had an assortment of dishes which were all excellent and the drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great too. So much so we were staying in the area for a couple of weeks and managed to get three visits in as we found it that good even taking some friends along on one of those visits. Come here quite regularly and always impressed. Staff are so lovely & always very helpful- if you have a specific request they will always ensure itâs done. The food is fantastic- always cooked to perfection and so tasty. Would definitely recommend the Varma and chilli garlic- both in the hot section...they wonât disappoint! Will be back soon!

Visited late on a Saturday; we hadn't booked but were seated immediately.As it was late, it was almost empty but there was evidence that it had been busier earlier... lots of squashed poppadoms in the carpet which hadn't been cleared away.We ordered our starters; my husband had shami kebab which he said were amongst the best he'd ever had. I had chicken chat. The puri was lovely and light however the chat was a bit sweet for me. It was more like a korma. However, that is individual taste. It was hot and plentiful.Our mains arrived quickly; I had chicken rezala which was very tasty. Not too hot and had an almost smoky flavour. My husband had Sylethi (sorry for awful spelling!) which he really enjoyed, though he spent a few minutes picking out the chillies as there was a lot of them!We ordered keema pilau and vegetable bhaji to accompany the main, both were very good.Half way through, we admitted defeat as the portions were a good size. The very polite waiter bagged it up for us to take home rather than waste it. Snd my son thoroughly enjoyed it when we took it home!It was our first visit here but we will definitely return.

After hearing of many good things from friends about the Balti Spice I finally decided to visit. I was greeted by the owner and a very charming man (had a nice conversation). Ordered food on recommendation and was impressed. Everything was delicious and will definitely be returning. My new number one Indian in St Helens

Me and my partner have always ordered here for takeaway and we decided to see what it would be like for an early dinner. We should of come here sooner! Food is amazing! And the service is very friendly and accommodating! Definitely going to recommend to friends and come again!!! â¨

Visited here twice in October 2019 and both times were fabulous. Lovely environment in an old building, plenty of seating and enough space to enjoy your meal. Staff make you feel very welcome. Food was delicious and freshly cooked and good sized portions, so much so that we never managed to finish al our food on both visits. definitely a hidden gem in St Helens and well worth a visit. reasonably priced and if in the area again I will return.

Anniversary meal with wife,been coming here since opening in 1989.As ever,the service and personal attention from Charlie and his good lady.was superb.Never had any reason to complain about any aspect of this place,as far as I am concerned it is a wonderful dining experience in every respect...great food and service,friendly helpful staff,nice ambience,and good value for money.Graham.Thank you so much for the fantastic review and for giving us the top rating.
