Discover Restaurants offering the best Asian food in South Bend, Indiana, United States. The 150-year-old University of Notre Dame is South Bend's biggest tourist draw, and for good reason. Though it's not easy to land seats at the 80,000-plus-capacity Notre Dame Stadium for a "Fighting Irish" football game, you'll find plenty of attractions on the beautiful, expansive campus. Highlights include numerous works of art, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the famous shrine. Football fans will also want to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, which features interesting perspectives on the game and inductee videos. Whether or not you remember the Studebaker automobile, which saw its demise in the early sixties, you're sure to enjoy the Studebaker National Museum, featuring more than 75 vehicles drawn from the history of the company, beginning with horse-drawn carriages. South Bend has several fine museums, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art and the Northern Indiana Center for History, a complex of four museums. Don't leave without trying truffles or fudge from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

Took my 11yr old daughter out for sushi. We shared the Dream Roll and the South Bend Roll, absolutely delicious!! My daughter said she would rather eat sushi than have dessert any day! Excellent service. They also serve other Chinese and Japanese food, but we only had the sushi and hot tea. We will definitely be coming back. And they are located next to Notre Dame.

I came here based on the glowing, enthusiastic reviews. You know it's the real deal when Quail eggs, Mackerel, and Octopus are on the menu, and they get points for that alone. I ordered Japanese noodles with vegetables, which came with miso soup (correctly covered) and a side salad. The miso soup was decent and the salad OK as I didn't care for the ginger dressing (somewhat bitter) on iceberg lettuce. The noodles wer quite good with a slightly sweet thin sauce. In addition, I had a quail egg (yummy) and two generous pieces of mackerel sushi, which didn't seem very fresh. Still, even with ny criticisms, Matuba is better than most Japanese restaurants and I would go back.
The former Siam Thai has updated their menu and transitioned to a pho restaurant. Service can sometimes cause anxiety, although I've always gotten what I ordered within a reasonable time. There seems to be only one person at any given time (I've only been there for lunch) covering the entire restaurant. I could seriously lick the plate after finishing their drunken noodles. Fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce pair with noodles and (for me) well-cooked chicken. My friends have ordered the pho and pad Thai and been equally happy.

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor while traveling. We ended up there not long before they closed. We were treated graciously and not hurried along. We practically had a private dining room so late in the evening. Our food was excellent. After 4 days in Nashville, free parking was appreciated.Google Maps made this easy to find.Include Mandarin House in your list of good South Bend restaurants.

At first glance the interior implies that the real investment here is in the food, and that was proved to be the case. The decor is simple, basic and clean. The food comes in generous, flavorful portions. We started with egg rolls with chicken instead of shrimp or cabbage. Minutes later, we received 4 freshly made, thin egg rolls with dipping sauce. They were still hot and worth every bite. We could have eaten more, but fortunately we did not, for the entrees were bigger than we expected. The pad thai had tamarind sauce which gave it a surprising yet welcome tang. The noodles, chicken, veg and crushed peanuts made it complete. The beef and broccoli came with rice as well as other veg. The char on the meat was perfect and the proportion of veg was just right. The place was packed for Friday dinner and the great food is the reason.

I've been twice now, and both times I have enjoyed Woochi. The atmosphere is fun, modern and enjoyable. Food presentation is great, but it also tastes delicious. It is really nice to have adventurous food options closer to our home. Will be returning again and again.

This restaurant has the friendliest staff of any restaurant I have ever been to. They act like your family who just stopped by their house. The food is great as well and not over priced.
