This restaurant has a structural advantage (being the only Indian restaurant in the town of Shepton Mallet), which is likely the reason it is actually quite busy. For anyone that has had good or great Indian, do not go or you will be upset and frustrated. I ordered Gosht Kata Masala which on the menu was described as âsucculentâ. The lamb was so dry that it was hard to the touch and required serious effort to slice. I showed this to the waiter and although he wasnât interested or engaged, to his credit he did remove it from the bill. However, I would have rather paid 2-3x the price just to have a nice dish. I also ordered the chicken tikka masala and the tarka dall. They were runny and uninspiring, to say the least. Think over cooked chicken simply mixed with a sauce that could have been out of a can. The pictures are self explanatory. The rice and the naan bread were âokayâ. On a positive note, the cold beer was tasty and refreshing, but clearly not owed to any effort of the establishment. These kind of restaurants make me sad - the proprietors and the customers are accepting mediocrity. Itâs a shame. I will certainly never return there again, and at the very least I hope this review inspires management to do something better.

Absolutely the worst Chinese take away that Iâve ever experienced! I couldnât bite through the chicken balls as they were so dry and tough. The duck and plum sauce was duck and pineapple only. I rang to complain, but told the manager was in China and the chef couldnât speak English! Then told I couldnât have a refund unless I brought it back this evening, despite saying Iâd bring it back tomorrow (itâs very late and I have an autistic son who needs me here). Iâm not someone to moan for nothing, but this meal was horrendous Not sure who wrote these positive reviews, but it must be staff or family. Seriously, steer clear

Great food and excellent service. Always friendly, sometimes get free prawn crackers. Clean inside and can see into kitchen so can see the food being prepared. Never had a dodgy time from eating here and being eating here 10 years. Wish they would open Monday's as I keep forgetting and want something then!
