Reviews on Asian food in San Ysidro, San Diego, California. San Ysidro (Spanish pronunciation: [san iˈsiðɾo]) is a district of the City of San Diego, immediately north of the U.S.-Mexico border. It neighbors Otay Mesa West to the north, Otay Mesa to the east, and Nestor and the Tijuana River Valley to the west; together these communities form South San Diego, a pene-exclave of the City of San Diego, thus making it possible to travel (by water) between central San Diego and South San Diego without ever leaving the city limits. We come here for ramen or sushi - both are outstanding. Be aware that they close between lunch and dinner, so if you're not careful and you eat lunch in the mid-afternoon, they may be closed - so call first. GREAT food, always busy and fun.

The Tom Kha soup was really delicious, the pad thai really sweet, too sweet, chicken wings were very good... Above Average, but not enough to grade at Very Good.... almost there.... could be a more cozy seating. i would go there again for the soup and the wings

My first impression was that i walked into a sportsbar complete with televisions mounted every six feet along the edges of the ceiling, playing all the current sports of the season. Music blaring an up tempo non discriptive music almost to the point of being annoying. But what I thought was a drink bar turned out to be a sushi bar with no one sitting there. The tables tops were brushed aluminum with an assortment of chair types and the floor cermaic tiles. This definitely contributed to the overall noise level of sports and music. The Food handler was friendly enough, but the food ordered did not arrive all together in a group delivery. It arrived piece meal, my Shrimp burrito arrived first, the spicy tuna role ten minutes later, followed by the Soup dishes my companions ordered. The burrito was cold by the time all the food arrived for us to begin eating. The tortilla was greasy and the shrimp stuffing cold and altogether bland. I was not impressed with this dish nor the service. The spicy tuna role was not spicy and the dollop of Wasabi too small to spice anything up. There was a decent amount of tuna, a good balance of rice and other items. The role wasn't wrapped tight enough to hold the shape and fell apart while trying to eat it. I generally like to eat the cold dishes first followed by the hot ones. That didn't happen and I am not sure why. The place was not real busy, there were many open tables. If this was truly a bar first and became a restaurant as an after thought then that would explain the disjoined appearance of the room, service and food. I should have ordered the fish soups, the were by far the best of the choices made this evening. They smelled great, tasted good and delivered hot. If I ever make it back, this is what I will go for.

Can't understand the previous reviews on this restaurant,we drove 30 minutes based on the reviews and it was the worst chinese meal we have ever had.My partners meal came out burnt with no attempt to hide it.I had the beef curry which was nothing like beef I have tasted before. To my amazement they boxed up our remaining food assuming we wanted to take it away to eat later how wrong they were.Admittedly the portions were big but this doesn't make up for poor food.
I had no expectation about the food because I already anticipated typical Chinese fast food meal. I ordered fish and beef broccoli with fried rice. Portions were huge. My friends ordered noodles instead of rice to accompany their viands.it not bad at all, it was quite filling.

A popular Chinese restaurant in San Ysidro. Very convenient right off the freeway in a shopping center with plenty of free parking. I have been here a few times now, and changed my order to egg fo young. It was very good, and very large portions. I do recommend this location to eat.
