I went last night with my wife and niece. First of all the appetizer specials they have are ok. The edamame was not crunchy and a little soggy. The drinks they have are good especially with the nigori sake (they have a few) and the one we got was good... Scb creme de sake. Service at the bar was good and the bartender Henry was a cold dude and recommended some great sushi rolls. The two we had spicy mango roll and the el camaron roll were especially good... Almost like eating eating ceviche on a roll. Looking forward to going back.

We visit San Diego about once a year, and always try to get to the China Wokery for lunch. There are lots of choices on the lunch specials menu, and the portions are huge; we took enough home for a second meal the next day. Everything is very tasty. The dining room is so attractive, with huge old timbers, and cooking utensils cleverly incorporated into the light fixtures and decor. It's quiet and comfortable, and easy to have a conversation. Attentive and friendly service, and reasonable prices.

Visited with family on a Sunday afternoon. Interior decor seemed nice.....but strange that on one of the potted plants, the actual pot was wrapped in aluminum foil. Looked kind of tacky? Otherwise cute inside. We started with the fried spring rolls which were good and served with a peanut sauce. Also tried the chicken wings which seemed to be stuffed with something...not sure what? mystery meat? or????? Would not order that again. The curries we ordered where really good. Son had the yellow curry with chicken which had potatos in it. Very tasty. The panang curry with chicken was also good. My mother ordered a fried white fish dish that was really dry. Overcooked.Service was great and wait staff was very nice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the meat at this restaurant. They have a great selection of meats which include ribeye, brisket, etc... They also have pre-marinated Korean meats such as bbq sirloin and ribeye. They meats are very good and the selections that they bring with are good. I would recommend getting rice shells to eat the meat with; they add a special twist with the veggies and sauces.

Most Asian restaurants are heavy on the thick cornstarch gravy, but at Shogun Tappan Steak house and sushi bar they stick to a more classic approach of tempura and pot stickers fill with pork served with a dipping sauce. The problem with most strip mall restaurants with the Asian theme decor is trite, but here it is understated and more authentic than most. The host and Waiter "Mr. A" were efficient and helpful. It may be slightly more expensive that others in the neighborhood, but it is worth it.

This review is so incredibly overdue, but my boyfriend and I went on vacation in San Diego memorial day weekend. On the last night of our stay we were hungry and asked the staff at our resort for recommendations for dinner. We love Thai food! so when it was recommended for us to eat here. We went sorta late on a Sunday night, and there wasn't hardly any other patrons there. Arriving at the restaurant I was impressed by the decorations and design of the restaurant. I loved that I was able to choose my spicy level. My boyfriend is a little more picky eater and he loved the honey chicken.Drinks were really good here & the restaurant was very kid friendly I was also made aware of their live band during happy hour.Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

I stopped in to check it out and order. The food was ok, I am not a Thai expert so maybe it's awesome to others. The woman, presumably the owner, was taking orders and was very friendly and pleasant. I'm guessing it was her husband sitting nearby barking orders, yet refusing to get off his duff and help her. That turned me off from going back.

Our family likes visiting here because the fish is fresh, there is a wide variety of creative rolls, and the menu offers something for those that love ramen and other non-raw choices. Everything we have tried there is tasty, but I would highly recommend: the PJ Roll for the delightful blend of cream cheese, sauces and delicate albacore (seriously, order two. we do); the Tuna Lovers since it has some nigiri, some sashimi and the Flamingo roll which is finished with this mouthwatering ponzu-based sauce; and any of the Ramen bowls, but double up on the noodles (because in our family those go quickly!)

Located in a strip mall with other food establishments, Love Boat Sushi is a favorite of one of my friends who brought me there. The sushi is prepared fresh and quickly, my noodles were tasty and hot. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was very friendly.
