What can you say; you need to book weeks, or even months in advance. It's so popular because it's so special. Chef Yamamoto combines traditional Japanese cuisine with local dutch ingredients. He investigates and researches the best of both worlds. Not always with outstanding results but always an exciting experience. And then you can get a sake, directly imported from Japan, to match most every dish. The only downside, you can't get in on a spur of the moment..

I'm rating this very good for what it is, a buffer restaurant. It doesn't quite compare to a normal restaurant. IT's a fairly new place behind a KFC and a MacD. Shares the same building as the Fuji chinese place which is listed on tripadvisor seperately.Hygiene seemed quite good and there was almost continuous restocking. Price does include free softdrinks and coffee. Alcoholic drinks you will have to fetch yourself and pay seperately. There's about 40 warm dishes on the buffet as well as cold meats and sea foods. You can get fish and meat grilled for you for which there can be quite a queue. Things I tasted where generally quite good except for the grilled lobsters and crayfish which were massively overcooked, tough and rubbery and the ensis clams which were really sandy. All in all not a bad concept, grab what you like, no waiting for orders, ideal if you're on a budget or with a group including children.

We have been there for lunch, the policy of ordering round per round makes sense to avoid wasting of food. Quality of cool dishes as well as the fried specialities is typical good average, we had nothing to complain. The fish used for sushi, especially the salmon could be more tasty. Anyway, it is high level complaing and we can recommend this restaurant.
Rotterdamse gezelligheid in Ridderkerk.

Too much to choose from! All fresh and well displayed. There is much more than just chicken, bites, salads, rolls, and platters for large parties. Worth a try!

Great food for a fair price. The setup is a bit old fashioned and crowded but we had a very nice mail with the kids. Plenty of choices for the non fish fans or Veggies like me ;-) and also for the kids. We liked nr. 29, 31, 38, 61, 63, 90, 91 and 94 ;-) Free parking in front of the door!Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your dinner! I hope to welcome you again.Kind regards,Ben Vorsteveld
