Asian Fusion Food / Seafood / Korean
Our family recently tried this restaurant for the first time. Very good food, staff very friendly and helpful (owner even came to our table and explained dishes). The restaurant is very clean. The servings are very large portions and reasonably priced. Family of five (5) had appetizers, drinks, and meals for under $130.00 what a bargin we will certainly be returning.

This restaurant has been a staple in this shopping plaza for a couple decades. So it must have a loyal following. My husband and I came on a Friday night. We had attentive service and the food portions are pretty sizable. The restaurant is clean and I would definitely return. Perhaps for the lunch buffet so I could try various dishes.

I remember until very recently when this restaurant was known as Hong Kong (adjacent to the EconoLodge in Hopewell, VA). When it apparently changed its name to Eastern (same location), it also changed the quality. There is this special treatment of a very popular Chinese menu item, shrimp and broccoli that I really like - I ask to have it prepared very spicy with an abundant sprinkling of schezuan (sp??) peppers, and Hong Kong got it right every time - almost as good as the way my local Chinese carry-out, Golden Wok, does - and THAT's a compliment. When I ordered it from the new Eastern, it fell far short of the mark. Well, they did include a side of hot sauce - not much of a redemption.

Enjoyed the variety of choices, similar to a favorite in another town. Love the ginger salad dressing. Had son advise me what to order and had plenty for next day left over.Have been a couple more times in same month.Would recommend, prices reasonable & portions good.

Just like any other asian grill place. Goid quality food. The same exact show by the cook. Good portions, expensive, loud and obnoxious. It is what it is. Good none the less.
We ordered takeout and picked it up. Walked over from the Hotel across the street. Our order was prepared as I waited because I had come over early. We found that the PU PU Platter contained Ribs (excellent) Shrimp Toast (overcooked and inedible) Fried Pork Won Tons (nice, but a little stingy on the filling) Fried Fantail Shrimp (overcooked but edible) Steak Kabob (very good) Egg Rolls (excellent) and Fried Chicken Wings (large and excellent.) I had asked that the Mongolian Beef be prepared spicy - and was it ever. I loved it, but my wife was unable to eat it. There was hardly any cooking sauce included and what was there had soaked into the fried rice (included in the combo.) The servings were plentiful and it made two meals for us. The packaged sauces they included in the takeout bag will last us for months. Price was reasonable.

Grandsons had craving for sushi so on Friday night we headed for nearby Hokkaido Japanese Steakhouse. Noticed how uncrowded it was, I think that was an omen. I will say the boys enjoyed the sushi, however it seemed to take forever between servings. Gramma had salmon and chicken teriyaki which she enjoyed. Not liking sushi, my option was for spicy noodles with shrimp. It was a pound of pasta (literally) with about 5 shrimp and a few sliced onions in a 'kind of' spicy sauce...not very good. The real reason for this review was the terrible service. The sushi as mentioned was extremely slow coming out, only matched by the teriyaki which took forever. Ten minutes after the teriyaki came my phantom spice noodles. Our dinner took close to 2 hours....did I mention the restaurant was not crowded, on a Friday night? The waitress was inattentive seen texting on phone and carrying on conversations with coworkers while sushi sat at sushi station. Gramma and I were to get soup with our meal which never came, so we asked to take it home. Oh, her grand finally was to knock over a full glass of water, showering all...accidents do happen, I know and visiting this restaurant was my accident..I learn from my mistakes. Never again.

During a teacher workday, a group of six of us and dined at this restaurant. Each and everyone of us raved about how delicious the food was from the buffet. The food was hot, flavorful, and authentic! The variety of choices was approximately 20+ items. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Thai food.
