Things to do in Poughkeepsie
This little place is tucked in a strip mall on Rte. 55 in Poughkeepsie and is an unexpected hidden jewel. New to the area - they are clean, reasonable and offer the freshest and most beautifully presented sushi around. The ambiance is unremarkable - the usual expected oriental decor - rather spartan but definitely clean. We've been several times already and have not been disappointed. There are many different offerings of sushi, sashimi and tempura with a great selection of appetizers. The King Kong roll was heavenly - others in our group have been thrilled with Spicey Girls, Godzilla and the sashimi. Nothing has disappointed including the salads with the ginger dressing. FYI - There's currently a $25. gift certificate for $10. you can get on Restaurant.com. A delicious experience!

Pad mango is located near St Francis hospital and Marist college. The food is very good, fresh ingredients and authentic Thai dishes. I had the pad Thai, spicy soup and toong thong. Delicious! Definitely a good spot for lunch and very close to many local attractions (walkway over the Hudson, locust grove etc..)

We tried this place based on all the great reviews. What were these folks smoking?First, be advised that this is a take-out joint with tables. We tried to dine there. We ordered soup, appetizers and entrees. The hot and sour soup (which was very good) was delivered immediately by the cashier. While I was perhaps half finished eating the soup, my entree was delivered. A minute later, here comes my wife`s entree. Some minutes later, out comes my wife's appetizer, an egg roll. Some minutes later, out comes my appetizer. What's wrong with this picture???In general, the food was bland and underseasoned. This place might be popular with college students from nearby Vassar, but anyone who appreciates good Chinese food will be disappointed.

I visit this restaurant at least 2x a month. This is a very consistent and good sushi place in Wappingers. They have Happy Hour every day from 3-5:30 where many rolls and appetizers are discounted. This is my favorite sushi place in Wappingers.

This is a great small place to get some sushi as well as other menu options. They also have lunch box specials. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. If you have a large party you may want to make reservations. They also have great hot meals like shrimp teriyaki.

I have gone to Kobe Hibachi three times now and the staff used to be horrific and rude. Now, from the way I was treated, it seemed a lot better than the attitude that I have gotten from them in the past. Now, for the hibachi. The hibachi chefs are wonderful and treat you very nice. They also really CARE. They take the effort to perfectly aim the vegetables for the mouth throw, and did the longest knife twirling spinning I have ever seen of all of my hibachi experiences. The food was great, very salty, but done to satisfaction(medium rare) which is something that not all hibachi places succeed in doing. Overall, especially on a cold winter day, this is a great, reasonably priced hibachi place for your meal.

Not bad, not great.... it's one of the few sushi places in the area (relatively speaking). The reputation is very mixed on Bonsai. I was not particularly moved either way.

Stopped in for dinner Friday night and glad we did. Charming restaurant and decor with friendly staff/service.We ordered the scallion pancakes (yum) and an Alaskan sushi roll to try and both were excellent.Dinner I had the Singapore Noodles, I did not love it but I had opted to try something new. It was a bit dry and a bit salty for my taste. My husband had Panang curry that he requested mild, and it did not disappoint. I just made the wrong choice for my palette, but will come back for sushi and definitely other items on the menu which sounded delish! Especially the walnut chicken and chicken w/ mango. And lastly, the presentation of the food is simply beautiful. We'll be back.

We had a nice lunch/early dinner here. Thai food is one of our favorites and this restaurant did not disappoint. Almost everything we had (Thai fried rice, Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Coconut Soup) was excellent (the only minor exception were the Thai spare ribs...they were flavorful but there were not a lot of them). The Thai iced coffee and tea were excellent, as well. Will come again!
