Ate here early 5-30pm on a Friday night ordered mixed seafood (todayâs fresh catch) chicken with basil and vegetables rice noodles with chilli jam. Food was at our table in 5 mins. seafood - mussels/squid/prawn/fish were so tender the vege and noodles fresh and the basil chicken subtle but tasty.

This restaurant was recommended to us, and we were not disappointed. An extensive menu gave plenty of choice and we went with Vietnamese fillet steak, Grilled chicken with ginger and shallot salsa, and stir fried vegetables. The chicken was particularly good, but all dishes were enjoyable. We will definitely be back here.

Bao Brothers is an Asian inspired street food eatery located in Newcastle West. We specialise in Bao's - which translates to steamed bun in Taiwanese. Bao Brothers contemporary Asian flavors bring the street-food culture of Gua Bao's to a whole new level.
OMG great Baos here. The steamed buns are delish. Can really recommend here for nice tasting food and excellent customer service.

An excellent place for dinner. Part of a group of 6, 3 vegetarians and 1 gluten free - all of us thought menu met our needs really well. Meals were freshly prepared and served quickly. It wasn't a busy night, and was more than adequately staffed.

The quirky layout and mismatched furniture doesnât detract from the excellent fare in this cosy Japanese eatery, always popular and not just with Uni students past and present; The staff are friendly and helpful, all ingredients are fresh and served in a from-the-heart home-style of cooking. No frozen prawns here.Owner and head chef is Asako who runs the kitchen with a minimum of fuss and a dab hand. The quite basic menu still manages to cover a lot of ground â several excellent dishes of Teriyaki, Katsu, Tempura and the Miso soup is fresh cooked daily with plenty of subtle flavours.Go to dishes are Teriyaki Salmon, Chicken Katsu and the TempuraWith this style of cooking and value for money prices the biggest problem is that one tends to eat too much. Ah well, maybe next time one dish less.

I don't consider myself a Thai food expert, but having visited Thailand 4 times, I can say i love it! We were staying at Noah's on the Beach and felt like something different for a feed. Years ago we had visited this restaurant, and as it is on the same block as Noah's, it was a short walk on a wet night. There's a great selection on the menu, and the Tom Yum soup was the best I've had. However we continued on with soft shelled crab and Mussaman curry, washed down with a good choice of beverages, including Thai beer. The service was efficient, attentive and friendly, and they seemed to be doing a roaring trade in takeaway as well, on this cold and wet Monday evening.A small, interesting venue - well worth trying if you enjoy thai food.

Here in the Honeysuckle Precinct of Newcastle, a modern take on a rich history of cuisine in a restaurant that also brings you the exotic mix of the teppanyaki bar, fresh sashimi and sushi, rare Japanese craft beers, whisky and sake, degustation menus, ba
Rather inconspicuously located in the Honeysuckle precinct in a row of restaurants this place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is pleasant, low keyed and efficient. The food is excellent. Recommend the sashimi, very fresh and prettily served. All dishes are good sized too. An excellent collection of sake. We canât wait to return!Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We appreciate the time taken to do so and we sincerely hope we'll be serving you again soon. :-)

We have been regular customers at Mod Thai for the last 15 years or so and have always found the food to be consistently good. Tonight however we were very disappointed with the meal especially the Lamb Massaman which was very strong in flavour - more like mutton than lamb - & inedible. I complained and was advised that âjust because you didnât like it doesnât mean there is anything wrong with the dishâ but three of us were of the same opinion. The waitress did not charge us for the boiled rice or corkage but sorry the food we were served tonight was definitely not worth the $81.70 paid!. Mod Thai has always been our favourite âgo toâ local restaurant but after tonight ...........
