Went with a bunch of friends after work. Had heard good things so was looking forward to it. Sorry to say I was disappointed and will have to think before returning as Iâve had better hibachi. They seated our group before everyone was there, which I was told and witnessed that they donât seat until everyone is in the restaurant. This includes a dad who dropped his family off at the door and was parking the car. After we squeeze into our group, the waitress came over and asked what we wanted. I asked for a menu and she looked at us with her pen and paper. We ordered. I asked if I could gave extra. Vegetables and was told no, really? It wasnât like I expected them for free . She got us caught up to our friends with our soup and salad, both were ok. I found the salad watery and bland, just iceberg and some yum yum sauce. The hibachi chef knew there was an allergy at the table and cooked that persons food separately which was great. As the food was being prepared, my husband and I must have been in the splash zone as the table around us and ourselves seemed to be getting splattered with oil and sauces as the cooking went on. Yup everything into the washer when we got home. The food itself was good but my salmon was drowning in sauce and he kept asking if I wanted more sauce, I wanted salmon not soup. It would be better for customers if there was someone who spoke and understood English so we could communicate our preferences to the chef. Iâm diabetic so the veggies are a necessity as is the limited amount of sweet sauces.

There is something for everyone at this buffet style grill. There are many meat and veggie selections for grilling along with bountiful sauce selections in addition to a salad bar and dessert bar. Service is always prompt and you are sure to walk away satisfied!

Small buffet, that has an overwhelming smell as soon as you walk in the door, almost musty. They don't even give you real plates, paper plates and plastic silverware! The food was not good. The price is cheap and you get what you pay for. I would recommend paying a little more and going somewhere else.

After reading reviews , we decided to order takeout from here thinking we would get some great food. The food was terrible. The fried dumpling were burnt on the bottom and the filling had an odd taste. The crab Rangoon was well done to the point it was dry. Sweet and sour chicken was also dry. The egg rolls ordered were actually spring rolls and they did not pack the wonton soup so no soup but they didn't forget to charge for it. Teriyaki chicken was okay but my son who is a big chicken fan opted to feed his chicken fingers to the dog. The pork fried rice that came with the sweet and sour chicken was greasy with very little in it other than rice and a few tiny pieces of pork. I don't know if it was just a bad night or a different chef cooking but we will not order from there again. .

One the road, looking for dinner and found a gem. Ginger Tea and Thai Iced tea wonderfully flavorful. Appetizers - calamari, crab Rangoon, Spring rolls, very well done. Crispy Duck Tamarind, pad Thai, red curry excellent. One if the better Thai restaurants we've been to! Worth a trip to discover!

This is one of those "hole in the wall" restaurants. It is located in a strip mall next to a liquor store. Since this is a "dry" restaurant you can grab a bottle of wine next door. The decor is bland, the place is crowded BUT the sushi is fresh and the staff accommodating.Love to go there with friends for an unpretentious dinner. Highly recommend if you like raw fish!

We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered and were show to our table by the most adorable little girl who was obviously a daughter of someone associated with this place. Sweet Mango has a sushi bar fairly prominent in the front of the restaurant and tables and booths that were close but comfortable. The Thai Hot and Sour Soup was a thin but flavorful broth with tasty vegetables. The Peking Duck appetizer was a pleasant surprise. Tasty strips of well roasted duck meat and stir fried vegetables were served on a thick yet light bao and topped with some crisp fresh veg. This was yummy! The Pad Thai was not the best I had ever had but it was full of well seasoned chicken and tasty noodles. Peanuts were served on the side as requested. The Panang Curry Chicken was delightful although more sweet than spicy. Service was very prompt and attentive and the prices quite reasonable.

This restaurant was a surprise. One tends to think of downtown Southington as mostly filled with burger joints and sports bars; I've been to Anthony Jack's Woodfire Grille, Genoâs Grille, Smokin' With Chris, and Sliders in Plantsville to name just a few. But Wild Orchid is a different world all together. It is modern, quiet, elegant and sophisticated. It's like the difference between a luxury SUV and an F150 pick-up truck... both are good, and both will haul your stuff, but one is infinitely more gracious than the other. Such is how I found Wild Orchid. The photos tell the tale. The menu is comprehensive with a good variety of Thai, Chinese, Japanese and a smattering of western dishes; everybody will find something to like. The young lady who served me was very smart and very charming, and made me feel quite welcome. She also made me the martini shown in the photos â this was an awesome bit of mixology. The dinner was delightful and I am sorry to report as a lone diner I could only sample a few dishes. (I'll have to go back with a gang of folks and we'll give the kitchen a more thorough exploration.) But what I had was perfect: the salad was fresh and tasty; the dumplings terrific and the duck â always a risky choice in an American restaurant â was perfect; crispy and flavorful. Dinner for one was about $50 with the martini and a glass of wine, which is just about right for a quality meal. Give the "Wild Orchid" a chance; I think you will be very happy with your choices..
